had to laugh this morning about a report of the failed blue leadership contender, david davis referring to the government as such.
he was drinking with friends in a london pub unaware that a group of financial times journalists were within clear earshot of his rantings.
a couple of other gems were that "you had to be a woman to get a job in government" and "the leadership was more concerned with appeasing the libdems than its own party".
Is this "bigoted woman" part two?
I just don't understand why failures aren't able to shut up and move on. Their bitter and twisted attitudes and rantings do them no favours.

A silly season story.
Funny, though.

the best bit was when he described the big society as a nothing, similar to the tony blair third way.
dave does remind me of tony in 1997, great presentational skills, ideas that are not detailed and visionary.
we will have to see whether the end result is what the public want.

I beleive David Davis is a former SAS soldier so a no nonesense kind of guy. You may remember he was a racing certainty for the Tory leadership one time but young whippersnapper David Cameron wandering the stage, the platform, and speaking in Blairite style with no notes gazumped his bid bigtime and we saw one of the most spectacular political falls in recent times for Davis. He nosedived from a great height into obscurity.
So no matter what came along he would be a disgruntled man out of sorts. However Im sure he speaks for great masses within the Tory Party who are having great difficulty trying to ingest and digest this latest oddball government. These guys Clegg , Cameron et al, didnt have a good week, their inexperience showed and of course it made grand media headlines in this generally quiet summer period. Talk of 'illegal wars' and 'junior partners' ruffled the ol voters.

A good summation, thanks Paul.

Its very sad to see the first cracks in the conlib coalition many more to come as the spending cuts kick in .
They are just so inexperienced - at first, so I hear, they didn't even fully understand the basic systems and mechanisms of the place which led to a few "schoolboy" errors in consultation and hierarchy.

I guess they're on a learning curve. Give them time.

Lets be fair David Cameron must be laughing his socks off at the gafs made at prime ministers question time, while he was away and his 2nd in command made such a cock up.
Like Barryw has indicated, the Lib Dem's are just a convience at moment, at first opportunity tories will ditch them.
If only the lib dem leadership wised up.
I give the coalition 12 months
(you heard it here first)

KEITH I said just that on the UKIP page some weeks ago, the Lib/Dems Members are less now then they were before May and as it said on T.V. if it goes on at that rate they will be down to only 16MPs next time. This is when UKIP will get some MPs

VIC;
I'm notinterested in UKIP so rarely read those postings, mine was a geniune looking in from outside view, D Clegg looked bad, gaffed many times, worst performance iv ever seen from him, don't know if it was the pressure but he was poor.
Even tory central office sent out press releases disagree ing with clegg!!!!
the cracks are opening.
whether you like it or not it's fact
