20:2540052good stuff andy, the play area, toilets and hospital are all part of the same problem.
somehow they become party political, why?
7 years of debate over a tiny play area, beggars belief.

22:1640058You are right there John .After the next DDC elections 2011 slowly it will not be the council we know today .Yous and my role will slowly disapear. The residents will not be looked after as they are today .KCC is too remote and Parish Councils and Town Councils will take more on .I personally dont think the public will be served any better .There maybe budget savings in the long run .I cannot see local Parishes and Town Councils taking on more work with out payment .
River has Ten, Town Council 18 If they all get paid for greater responsibility .For instance take the two councillors for River Six Hundred a Month divide between Ten.plus 7from Alkham approx £40 each then take away the Tax Not much left considering all the meetings and running around ..

11:0340079it may just be teething troubles but i get the impression that shepway council have an entirely different agenda to ours.
the future will be unitary authorities though, maybe given another name, but the effect being the same.

08:2740172Unitaries Is NOT the way forward, although i do support the need to slim down or even do away with one of the 3 councils, and then giving this work to other 2.
As iv stated unitaries in wales has not worked, maybe a re think on this
