Sue do you work all week at your cabinet post?
*QUOTE May i ask do you see Cllr Kenton Cllr Kit Smith Cllr Heath ,Cllr Bartlett supporting events in Dover QUOTE*
Do you see these Councillors on public forums saying what a buzy day theyve had?
These councillors do not live on the outskirts of Dover, maybe if I wanted to go to Deal I might see them.

The Councillors Sue has named are cabinet members, so they represent the whole of Dover District, their wards are Eastry, Walmer, Walmer and Little Stour & Ashstone.

22:429837Bern,I think what Sue means is that she is a Portfolio holder which sets Council policy for the whole of the area, but her ward is River which is not part of Dover(metro) where there are cllr like Nigel,Gordon Cowan,Kevin Mills,Marian Munt,Viv Revell Diane Smallwood Mick and Ann Smith,Jan Tranter.Roger Walkden and myself who obvisously are concerned that happens all over the District but we have our wards in Dover, where Sue is River.
I have said that I would not say anything against fellow Cllrs,Sue and I do not agree on policy but we are friends,it is not the person I disagree with but the Policies that her Party represent, but you would be surprised how often we agree on Council Policy it is that we like to look at the problem differently, and scrutise any decision, yes we challenge them, and question them but we also put forward ideas that are sometimes taken on board.
Sue would not trash fellow Cllrs on purpose, she is angry at the moment because of the events in River and I know the Mayor is but it will be sorted out when the communication improves, they both work hard for thier wards Sue for River, Diane as Mayor for the Town
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

01:0510614I now Sue has strong views on these types of issues, but im with MANDI on this one.
Sue should have tolerate this one for the kids.
More so if River parish council invited the mayor!
Sometimes we forget that this world does not just operate for us, others should be thought of to.

07:3810618Sorry, but even if Sue was angry, she is a grown up and a politician who needs to be able to communicate effectively and appropriately. I am sure she has many good ideas and works hard (etc etc etc etc) and is well intentioned and a lovely person (etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc). My main issues on these threads have centred on her communication and how she presents. Those are crucial parts of a politicians brief. She still remains unclear and patronising, careless and aggressive in her postings - and before anyone jumps in to tell me she is none of those things, that is how she appears in the way she presents herself on here - I do not know her and perhaps that assists in seeing her communications objectively. This is intended NOT as a personal slight but a simple reflection. Frankly I care less and less about this, though - she obviously gets enough votes to carry on despite her tantrums, protestations, self promotion and poor communication, so she must be doing something right!!!

10:1110632Bern ,Keith and all the rest of you .I was at the Village Hall bazaar on Saturday where my friends and I ran a stall, just as well money is badly needed for our Village Hall .No trumpets sounding no photographs no press just the faithfull of River who have supported me year in year out .I appreciate you do not like my style but it has got me through 21 years of politics .I rarely hold a grudge and it takes a lot of determination to carry on when it appears the press are against you and the world and his wife .
I have had so many people coming up to me and supporting me over the past few weeks .
I have always called a spade a spade im not one to tell lies or pretend .There is choice and if you look at my voting record you will see how over the years people have stood by me .
Im sorry Mandie chose to start this thread I would never have done that .
WE all have troubled times and dear friends to support.
Bern you donot like my style I dont always care for yours but we are all different
let us all agree to disagree.
By the way last year I attended an event on behalf of our DDC Chairman where DDC were completely ignored I dont recall writing to the press. The Town Mayors there were all accorded the pomp and ceremony and I just sat and smiled and gritted my teeth .I called that my duty Bern I was there representing the council to whivh I have served loyally for for so long .

I was not going to respond on this subject again, but Sue when you make it personal then I feel I have to.
Why shouldn't I have started this thread exactly????? Many of the subjects discussed on this and other forums are based on stuff read in our local papers. Therefore I have every right to start a thread based on something I had both read about and was spoken to about. Quite what the last bit about about troubled times and dear friends has got to do with any of it is beyond me.
I guess the real reason you don't think I should have started this post Sue was because it didn't show you in a great light, well I am sorry for that, but it was not me that didn't show restraint at the event..
What difference did it make whether the 2 people who ran the brownies live in River or not???? or the brownies for that matter. Please don't tell us now that it should only be RUN by people in River FOR CHILDREN in River. Sometimes the statements made on here just begger belief.

18:2710660Sue, I do hope that the hospice provides the tranquility that your friend needs at this difficult time. It puts all other matters into perspective and this is a time when you really do need your friends.

20:0510669Sue - please accept my thoughts and wishes, and I hope your friend finds what she needs while at the Hospice. It is the first Christmas without my adored father. Christmas can be hard, but there are compensations.
