Yes have to agree with most posters, when in the public eye you will be shot at, and this was a mild joke, and Sue should be thankful for that, I spoke wioth Sue at the council meeting and it didn't appear to be of concern then.
I do have concerns when the articles become more personal on the the individual, there homelife., or family thats when I say no im afraid no one should have to go through that wehich many have.
I think thayt although Sue is wrong on this one and will probably reflect later on it and hopefully come back larfing about it.
I have fotr some time mentioned in many places the dangers of running these local articles(not the Sue one)
It's difficult enough to get people to stand for any council and if they see thsat as soon as they get elected they will have the pee taken out of them, who realy wants that?
Having been omn the end of it I know how frustrating it can be, but I draw the line at involvinhg the wider families which has happened to others, and I'm all for having a larf but we also need people to stand for councils and have to remember even councillors are human (yes they are!!)
Ian they can put my face in it if they want. With a face like mine I will keep the drink fueled idiots away

I think you have all missed the point .I was not told my photo would be on the forum in that vain, however as there is not too large of an audience I lived with it .What I do raise objection to was the fact it was in the Dover Express .When Councillors attend events or promotions they know that most likely it will be in the press .
I state yet again my Daughter was very upset and said I did the right thing in complaining .Not that I expect an apology .I think you also miss the point that it was Nigel who posted it .He know full well how apposed i am to the TV Screen
In the years he has been a councillor like many he likes to be with the winners and if things are not going his way shys away .
I dont think the residents of Market Square are best pleased with him . .

I take it then Sue that you will be stepping down from being a DDC councillor?
Obviously you don't want to bring any further duress or stress to your daughter.Very laudible and understandable.
Right thats one down!!
Now has anyone got a real p***taking photo of Nigel (electioneering) Collor to put on the forum that will hopefully be taken up by the Dover Express.
Only mildly humourous photo's need apply.

No i shall not be stepping down Marek .There are many people whom I represent know me better that that picture portrays .Two years to go marek .
Yes get a nasty one of nigel .
I have a sense of humour Ian.Not in a pub way Though
Sue you do nothing to help yourself do you????
I have not been in a pub or had any sort of drink other then coffee, or soft drink in MANY years. To suggest PUB HUMOUR is the reason others find it funny, really shows how detached you are from people today.
I didn't see councillor Collor moaning or coplaining when he featured in the Dover Film Festival film as "One man and his Spade"
The entire audience found it hilarious. Perhaps they had all been "Down the pub" first
(Terry please tell me it was Nigel)

Don't think he's seen himself in the film Mandie, I didn't see him in the audience.

I can confirm that Mandie is the only woman I know that possesses a 'pub type sense of humour' even though she wouldn't be seen dead in one.
I, on the other hand,am totally devoid of any type of humour and therefore totally believed that the image potrayed on the Big TV screen was indeed a fore taste of what was being proposed to screen namely: the shanningans that take place at the DDC meetings at local council offices behind closed
doors and that a local hat wearing councillor was caught in full throttle voicing her objections to progress. No wonder town centre residents are objecting!
However if its anything like Dovers CCTV ..it either won't be working,or not switched on or no-one will even be watching.

Hello Sues foot, here's Sues mouth - oh, you have already met?
Mandie is right Sue - I am sure you do lots of good things, but you miss every opportunity to show us in the right way, and every opportunity to learn. And because you are a politician, I have the right to reflect on your practice as such.

If i come on here and tell you all the good things I do you start complaining .Recently I attended my great friends funeral .I was asked to do say a few words .Now that was not easy but I had to be strong for my friend wife .I cannot tell you how many people have come up to me to congratulate meMy elder son said if after 22 years on the council you would expect Mum to to a good job My family know me and love me for my honesty ..Perhaps you would like to catch a 66 bus and see the daffodills coming out in bloom .I had the courage to speak up for the residents and shopkeepes in Market Square .I have now done tnat three times .I do not court the press and never will .I think its the little green eyed monster that comes in these responses .
I get paid to do a job Im not at DDC today as im a little under the weather .I work for my money and just because I dont fit into a stero type politician stop the knocking .Just for the record Bern what have you done recentlly for the community????
I know you work I dont think its NHS .It could be social services??You have very socialist views and quick to judge .
I did not see Nigel with the spade .Was he digging himself into a hole ??

Sue
Sorry you're under the weather. You could always shelter under the large TV screen once its erected. But getting anything erected these days can be a problem!
As for Nigel... a spade would not suffice a JCB would be required in order for him to a dig a hole large enough ... "Oh dear ol'Nige I only wish he had a proper job" his Mum recently commented....lol

If ever there was a need for some councillors to call it a day, this thread surely proves it. Completely, absolutely and undeniably out of touch with the modern world.
For god's sake this is one tiny little step forward for the town and should be taken advantage of.
Sue - take Brians advice. I am sorry you are unweill - curiously so am I today! Sue - I do not seek election to work for the community so do not need to create portfolio of good deeds! Neither do I need to tell you what I do for a living, but I can tell you I am one of the least judgemental people I know. As voters and citizens we have a right to ask respectful questions and reflect on the performance of our elected reps - in addition, I am aware that you probably do heaps of good things, but you really don't do yourself any favours and I genuinely want to reflect that to you so you can, perhaps, stop appearing so dogmatic, judgemental, self absorbed and over bearing. I don't know you, but I would be surprised if you were all of those things, so stop appearing as if you are!!! I truly mean it kindly but I am confident you will not hear it that way. There is a wealth of affection for you on this forum but you do seem to be wasting it when you could be using it.
now - I will stop justifying myself and get on with posting!!

Just had a lovely walk in Kearsney Abbey ,so beautiful this time of the year .
Sorry about that problem Marek Now that did make me laugh .
Sorry Dave you are the one out of touch .Does it not depress you to see the anti Social behaviour in Dover .When you cannot put a bag down at a bus stop because someone has either vomitted or had a good spit .I tell you my brain is as good as it was 22 years ago .Having sons who travel the world and the yougest is not yet thirty im very much in touch with the modern world .If hHving a giant Tv is a move forward I willll eat my hat .
Speak to the owners of commercial activities in Maket Square they will soon put you right .Well why not put it on Walmer Green or Sandwich
This screen is taking up valuable officer time which cou.d be better spent looking at the state of our town .
Bern I know you go on the other forum .I have been working with a poster on there .Must not discuss on an open forum .It does not make the head lines ..
