21:5440057just had a look in there is a site dedicated to "saving " dover port.
once i cut through the obscenities and assorted rubbish i discovered that a lot of people were under the impression that the white cliffs would be sold as part of the package.
just as amusingly there were others that thought if the "froggies" sic purchased it, english staff would all be replaced by french people.
i know a lot of people love social networking sites, but there does sometimes appear to be "more out than in".

22:4040063There is an amount of idiocy to wade through, admittedly - but I a rather enjoying the rest of it! The busniness bits are a good aside, and it is a fabbo way to keep tabs on the kids...........not that I do, of course, especially if the little darlings are reading this.

20:3840131I don't think the level of public stupidity is essentially any different because of social networking, it's just that social networking exposes it a lot more.
We shud fank Bill G8s, he like owns the inter net and all dem pc world shops and that and wivout him we wdnt have FCBK or Twitter, init. LOL.

20:5640134i have to agree there rick, i never knew there were so many mono-syllabic people around until the advent of the mobile phone.
social networking has encouraged more to come out of the closet though.

22:3140147Oh dear. Google have literally just announced their version of Facebook called Buzz.
Is this going to be part of Google takes over the world or does Facebook have too much momentum to be caught up with?

23:2040154this should all be very useful to our younger generation when they go out into the business world and try to compete with their counterparts from asia for important contracts.
a world where "english" is the business language.

13:1840186I h8 txt tlk2!
However, Facebook is OK providing you can get past the dangers on there (and they are real). I'm on Facebook every day, and I am concerned about the number of nutters on there - I just ignore them, but I can see how some vulnerable people might not be so confident about doing the same.
As a social networking site, I think it's fantastic, and has put me in touch with a couple of old school friends I haven't seen or heard from since 1979, but by the same token I have been contacted by some people I've never known who want to be my 'friends' and I'm worried why a complete stranger would want to befriend me. One was a guy from the middle of nowhere in the USA; I accept that not everyone on there lives in the Bates Motel, but I have genuine concerns that there may be some who do, and it only takes one..........
I can see why the Police are concerned over paedophile entrapment of children.
True friends stab you in the front.

14:1740187I joined facebook on Monday just to see what it`s all about. I don`t understand all these names that appear on there, who wish to make freinds with me. I shall possibly dump it at the end of the week. Probably okay if you`ve got plenty of freinds and relation`s to talk to, or as Andy mentions, looking up old school chums. Is that it?

21:0940373just looking at barry's post about bearded females reminded me of something i read this morning.
a chap in dubai was going through an arranged marriage, after the imam had declared them man and wife he lifted her veil to see the beautiful woman he had wed.
turns out she had a beard, all the pictures she had sent him were of her sister.
the groom is rather miffed about the whole affair and was last seen running at breakneck speed to a sharia court to get the marriage annulled.

17:2840409Arranged marriage, should have no place in this modern world, yet it`s still allowed in this country. See my Religious Murder in England posting.

are you confusing arranged marrages with forced marriages.?
don't forget the royal families of europe have been doing the same since the middle ages, ours still do for the most part.

19:4140429Perhaps an arranged marriage is a more civilised way of saying a forced marriage Howard? Charles and Diane for example. Either way, it`s not freedom of choice I`d have thought.
