Unfortunately the nature of open forums, like with the celebrity world once it is out there you can't complain of the outcome, good bad or other, but many use them as an opportunity to say what they would not say face to face and that is unfortunate and sad.
Personally I have upset more people face to face.
Fly your flag Lyn regardless and fight your corner if it offends.

Brian you can never have too many flags especially if they are this country's national flag proudly fluttering in the breeze.

Not having lived here very long I am new to this topic of discussing the flying of a national flag. Now that it has come up, I must admit there is an obvious lack of Union flags within the town itself. Plenty of flag posts but they stand unused. Very odd. As the Gateway to this country , one would have thought national pride would be in full view for anybody visiting this island to see. Is there a local policy in place not to fly flags in the centre of this historical town that bore the brunt of so many attacks in many wars?

No reply. One assumes nobody is quite sure then. Mr mcsweeney1 appears rather knowledgeable about community matters and the lady Jan Higgins comes across as a patriotic person. Nice to share thoughts with you .

Negligence? Penury? State of the nation? Political commentary?

What a shame it certainly needs replacing but maybe Dover Rugby Club have more important things to spend their limited funds on.

What? If each of the lookers-on drinking hot coffee on that damp Sunday by their Audis and Range Rovers chipped in a quid or two there'd be enough for a new one and a few reserves.
The way it is, it's a waste of a good pole.

I remember when post retirement I was teaching at Manwoods and cycling past the RCPGC each day. Their flag getting 'tatty' I e-mailed and it was quickly replaced.
The state of the flag at Crabble is a disgrace.
I honestly don't think of (m)any European countries where the local citizens would have allowed such a thing to happen to 'their' flag.
