I was sadly unable to come out last night despite good intentions- but intend to make it there soon! But - and forgive me for sounding like an eejit (accurately, it has to be said!!) but where is the White Horse? I don't get out much!

The White Horse is nearby the sports centre and next to the ruined church Bern.
It was a good eve - my head still hurts. I never learn my lesson.
What would be the fun in that Phil?! Much more fun to find out again each time! The White Horse is beautiful! I didn't realise it was that one.....lovely. And walking distance too. Nice.

Didn't know there was going to be a (re) opening ceremony, we'd have got there earlier.
Good Luck Mandie and Jeanette

Visited The White Horse today, the barman in a hurry, but got a smile from a lady in there.

Guilty as charged - I had lunch with my father that day! As for the rest of your description of events, I can't really comment because I had only nipped downstairs to eat after having a fight with my living room unit!
The reason Patrick (the barman) was in a hurry was probably my fault though because when its quiet I give him other jobs to do. There is no reason for ignorance though and if that is how it appeared to you Colin I can only apologise, buy you a beer & give you an even bigger smile next time.
I know a million ways to always pick the wrong thing to say

Hi Jeanette, and many thanks for your reply, and it must have been you who gave me that smile. No offence was taken, but I think since being on this forum, I`ve been more conscious of things in life such as the other day, whereas normally, I`d have thought nothing of it. I shall return, and hopefully I can bring another customer or two with me. See you soon, Colin.

glad that is sorted, i thought that when colin said a lady smiled at him, it must have been jeanette.
she is never far away from a great beam.
i think we should have an unofficial forum meet up there one lunchtime now that the weather is improving.
i always liked their courtyard garden.

keep it under your hat though colin.
otherwise paulb and colette will turn up with their photographic equipment.
no need for them to know.
I might come along just to see if PaulB gets his zoom lens out.

Only just caught up with this. Very willing to meet Howard and Colin one lunchtime. I might even stand a round.

No good standing around Terry, you need to get those beer vouchers out or Howard and Colin won't turn up!!

Terry, in view of the time I`ll have soon, I`m sure it could be arranged, and would be nice to meet you mate. Regarding Howard, I`m always trying to drag him in somewhere`s for a tea, never mind a pint. I always catch him when he`s waiting for his bus home.

Will do Terry. I have promised Jeanette above that I shall return, although I haven`t had too much time lately, and I do confess to having forgotten about this thread at times.

Popped in tonight and the place was pretty full. Impressive for a Monday night - Jeanette is certainly sorting the place out.

Was that you Andrew I saw in there ? I was sitting with a group discussing a local community radio and how it can become a reality.
I thought I recognised you, but wasn't sure.
