18:3433562Do you think we can have a Blog just for all the prospective parliamentary candidates for the next General election to put their points over and talk to the public etc,I know we have one for Barry but at this time we are taking up alot of other pages as well, that might not be fair to all.
Not eveyone likes to keep on about the forthcoming election like we do,and I do not want the public geting fed up with it all, because that will cost us all votes in the end.

21:5933566Vic if you think you can fight the general election campaign on here you are wrong. It wont work. The candidates, the serious ones anyway, will be far too busy to spend time on this forum.

00:3433569I think more to the point Vic is how serious people are going to take you.
The Status Quo fiasco seriously damaged your credibility and undoubtedly that will be raised in due course amongst other things. You still laugh it off to this day but ulitimately that will be the cause again, amongst other things , to your downfall.

11:4333588Oh Roger did you have to remember the beans that's unfair, I can't look at a bean now.
Seriously though the whole thing is a joke and simply an ego trip that is going to end in disaster.

the UKIP is picking up votes all over the place, even in council elections.
in a marginal seat like ours it would very likely affect the outcome.

17:2933607Depends if people vote for the party or the person - mostly for the party.

20:3833611Hi
iv made m y opinion clear on Vic standing and to be fair have told him to his face.
This is something barryw and I can agree on.
VIC won't admit it, but he looked and was devasteterd after the last result and will be again.
clearly looking at local results vic has stood in, the people have rejected VIC and i see no signs of this changing

20:4433615You are quite right Keith. I'm afraid Vic has consistently made a fool of himself and people tend to remember that.

20:4733616I think Vic,whom I like, lost any credibility by constantly switching parties. He should have stood as a die hard Independent with his own policies and views without touting himself to any party that would back him.
Sorry Vic cos you are a decent lad but sometimes the truth often hurts.

I think therefore I am (not a Tory supporter)

21:3433629roger is right on this one, party will be more important than the candidate in a general election.
local elections are a different thing altogether, that is when people decide who is the best for their little patch.

Whilst you are partly right, VIC has been rejected many times, and if you cant win local elections you are hardly likely to win the wider bigger seat

22:4133637Keith you keep on about I have been rejected by the public many times, lets just have a close look at that one.I have only lost 3 times with a public vote, now lets look at them one by one.
(I) was your ward yes I did not do well there after being a town cllr of that ward four years and as you know in that 4yrs I was always up there working ,and the weekend of the big flood I was the first cllr there helping out and the only I ndependent one that done anything in the ward none of the others did not even go up there in four yrs,but anyway the public vote was for me to go.
(2) The next time was when I up against the reds in their safe seat,I did not think I would do well up there and I did not but my few votes did stop the blues geting iin up there.
(3) And the big one was the lastGeneral Election againno party just me I did know again that I would not get in,True I was hoping to get more votes than I did.
(4) At River the public did not get a vote,I went on and after about ayear and packed it in because there was a man and his wife who would not go on the council with out each other, with only one seat to fill they were both good workers and help me with events so I gave up my seat so they could both go on.
After that I did try to get back on but the council voted not to have me,it was not the public.
So you see it was not so much was it.

have you changed your political allegiance like blue ken?
victor has always been the maverick at election time.
this time with the full backing of a party machine he will be able to influence the outcome.
sounding a bit like a parrot now, but it is an established fact that UKIP feed off of disaffected blue voters.
victor is your best chance of gwyn holding on to his seat, unless you are coming out in favour of chas now.

08:4533653Forgive me Vic for saying this, but is it that you really support UKIP (do you know what their policies are towards Europe etc.) or is it that you just want to go with them because you feel you'll have more chance of being elected ?
You're a passionate man about Dover Vic. we all know that, but with new knees on the horizon and being 68, do you really want this - the stress could be enormous.
Lesley is supporting you I'm sure, but doesn't she want you all the time ? your health says not to do it.
