We all moan about poor service and quite rightly too but it is also good to recognise good service from companies of all shapes and sizes.
I today rang a smoke alarm manufacturer's technical helpline. I had four new smoke alarms installed in my house about a year ago, all meant to last 10 years. After explaining that one of the alarms had sounded intermitant bleeps, signifying a fault or dead battery, they immediately recorded my details and a replacement has now been confirmed will be delivered tomorrow. No arguments or quibbles, simple easy and responsive. It was even easy to find their contact details on the back of the alarm.
These alarms, compared to my previous one, are also or a noticably superior build quality.
Thank you FireAngel of Coventry.
Perhaps others of you can to recognise good service on this thread from companies, specially local ones.......

On subject of good service;
If things not changed MORRISON'S appear to have installed a customer care focus into the staff, all seem friendly, chatty, and I don't have to listen at tills about last nights events they attended.
Staff are on hand, always helpful, and the appear to have public support from the feedback i'v had.
It's refereshing to go into a store such as morrison's

another one i would recommend is a.d.s of deal.
rang them at 9.30 am to fix my washing machine, arrived at 10.15 installed a new pump all done by 10.45.
call out and labour £.30 the pump another £.35.
he appears to carry every part going as my machine is one from argos(not a famous name)
seems good to me.

That was cheap Howard, 30 pence for labour and 35 pence for a new pump,
I will go with Sid on Blackmans,I have used them for years, very efficient and reasonable.

I`ve visited the White Horse a few times now in the last few month`s, and always find excellent service from all the staff, including the landlady.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

I agree about Blackmans, excellant firm.
I also agree about Argos and never use them unless I have too.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Argos=shopping hell; Morrisons=great customer care and a fab cafe; Aminas=kind and pleasant service and great egg and chips! Costa=crap service, expensive folderolling meaningless mucked-about coffee and carbs.

Agree about Blackmans, maybe not the cheapest but you can't fault the workmanship.
I would suggest that negative comments are best kept off the forum as not only can't people respond but it may be a one off situation that is not normal service. OR you could be the problem!!
On the other hand we do need to talk up the good:-
Blakes is superb and unbeatable for food and beer
Vanes granary loaf is the tops
MAS are superbly honest and reliable car repairers
and many many more super and great businesses in this town if you only seek them out.
True - our Library is consistently fab too - helpful and friendly, will try to get all kinds of odd books without batting an eyelid, and a nice place to go.
