The Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant are supporting Doverforum with an advertisement, I wish them all the best in Dover and look forward to trying their Pan Fried Scallops
I sampled these tasty morsels served with black pudding on a garlic ciabatta for the first time whilst in Weymouth last week, where a visiting Australian sailor said the were the biggest and best he'd ever tasted

We had a food hygiene advisory circular from DDC this week urging us to beware of king scallops who apparently can contain quite high levels of a dangerous toxin.

A Big welcome to our newest advertiser, The Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant, we are very pleased to have you on board and wish you all the best here in Dover. I can recommend the Lobster, Crayfish and Avocado salad which I have enjoyed many times at the Hythe branch

My Old Man took the hint and is taking me there to dinner on Friday to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary (today). Hurrah!!

Many congrats Bern. It's our 44th (I think) next month. We might try it. I'm rather fond of dobster, I hope it's still on.

Happy Anniversary Bern and Mr Bern...I can only assume a dobster is a 'dobbing'' big lobster.

Doesn't look old enough to be married 44 years . He must have been a war bride..

My son and some friends went to the new hythe bay last night. The good bit is the food was fantastic. The not so good bit is that it took forever to get their order taken. They where the only diners. The waiting staff had to be asked 3 times to bring the bread that had been requested and also they had to repeatedly be asked to bring water to the table. Not a very good experience. Its such a shame. That the food was apparently let down by the skill of the service staff. Another acquantence of mine went for lunch and again food was great service was slow and chaotic. I hope everyone going tonight has a good time. But on the experiences above it may be that people will go once to try and not bother returning. Its hardly an inexpensive way to experience bad service
I shall let you know our experiences later.........!

ALL POSTS ARE MY OWN PERSONAL VIEWS
I can forgive a few things: if a man makes me laugh I can forgive him a great deal; if a restaurant serves great food I can forgive a smidge of sloth. In either case discourtesy would lose me!

The bad service side was evident when it first opened and when the second management took over, hope they aren't keeping the same people on as no one is learning anything.
