17:5027985You are 100% right on this Rick. There is a lot of legislation that results in having to waste your own and other people's time and money. You are right about older workers, they have a great deal to offer and only the most short-sighted of employers would automatically bar them from many if not most jobs. But there are cases and situations where other factors take over, like yours and it is unfair on both the employer and the job seeker not to be able to spell out your requirements.

16:1728035I am now 67years old and still working and will keep going if I keep well,I have been very lucky left school just before I was 15years old and never been with out work not even for one day,it has not been easy at times and had to go overseas at one point and also live in digs alot but you must go to where the work is it will not come to you even in the good times,I do feel sorry for the young and any of the public without work, all I can say is keep looking and asking and take any job for now,it is true you will find it better to get the job you are after if you are in work.

18:5928132I am not taking a job away from anyone young or old,I am still doing the same work I was doing 45years ago some of the jobs I have done some times 200ft in the air or down under in the sewers,or in ships tanks etc they found it hard then to find someone to do it and the same can be said of today, but I am not called on now to do that,so some one is doing it.Why should I stop the work I now do needs to be done so I do it.
