Round Britain - Scotland (including the Orkneys); Dublin (Barry, I need some details of that great pub/bar/restauarant/music venue you mentioned and details of other Dublin high-lights; St. Peters Port in Guernsey, Cornwall too I believe.

Kick off at 5pm, Bank Holiday Monday May 25th. Contributions of food and drink will be very welcome. Need to know numbers so would be very helpful if you can post your replies on this thread. Cheers!

Marites is flying back Sunday 24th so will be in attendance.That's my fun with the ladies out of the window.
Natascha is visiting Mandie tomorrow and inviting the Carnival Court girls round but whether they will be able to attend is still unknown at present.
May I take this opportunity, before having a Babycham in thanking Colette ,Linda and David for staging this party.When I told my very large family about what had been organised upon my behalf they were all quite moved and utterley surprised that I had any friends at all.

Don't..you'll get me all emotional.
I have been here since '73 barring overseas postings so it will come as a great wrench to leave Dover.It dawned on me yesterday when I went to the local supermarket and all 3 checkout persons addressed me by name and shouted "good morning".That's not going to happen over in Jersey!
Also through this forum I have made so many wonderful friends and shared many happy moments at various functions and parties.For that I thank PaulB Colette and Barry W-S for putting up with my postings and continually making a bee line for the exit whenever I walk into a room..hehe.
I have engaged in heated debates and hopefully have always retained my sense of humour and remained friends with those on the opposite side of the house..sorry I mean bar..lol.RogerW & BarryW are both good friends even though we often disagree.Sorry you 2 can't make the 'do'.
I shall keep in touch and be your man in Hava...erm I mean St Helier. Reporting back on how Jersey, which is outside of the EU ,is coping with the economic crisis.
So in closing I hope as many of you possible pop in for a drink and a bite to eat and a handshake.

- 17 May 2009 18:4121487Great all welcome - its Mareks party. We will pump prime with some babysham lookalike and some lagers and some soft drinks - if anyone wishes to contribute that will be welcome.
At the weekend we will put up some gazebos and tables - just pray for good weather and we will have a practice for carnival day. I havent sorted the music challenge out yet...

Kicked the diet into touch until after I move.My stress levels which to be honest I normally keep well under control have been all over the place recently.Natascha has been unwell and off school requiring 24/7 love care and attention.
My wife and son are already in Jersey and I have endless phone calls asking me such daft questions as "What should I eat for Dinner" or "what number bus runs from St Helier to St Lawrence?" and I am supposed to ring them back with all the answers..argh....
I have done what WC Fields recommended and turned to the bottle "it was the making of himmm" and "it was a Filipino women that turned me to drink...and I never had the decency to write and thank her" or something very similar.
So John I look forward to your cakes
