  i am sure that they could do a spot on the subject.

  I have just tried to google a contact for meridian but failed - I am sure it is my fault as a technophobe! Anyone else got a contact?

  I don't think it's a good idea to tell everyone who watches Meridian TV that Dover is a dump (it's not a dump anyway). The area that Meridian TV covers goes up as far as Oxfordshire, across as far as Berkshire, south to Hampshire and all areas in between - a good number of whom should be told that Dover is great - not the opposite.

  I do understand where your coming from, the problem is, this is a real eyesore as is parts of the town, I'm unsure how to help to move this on, its gone on so long, and the people power presently being expressed needs to be bottled and used,

  Yes I do, but at the moment I can't post what they are.
  
  But as a starter I think we could involve the Pay-Back team of Community workers to clear it up and redecorate the building and present Wetherspoons with the bill (for the materials used, like paint, brushes and dust-sheets etc.).

  We don't have to say Dover is a dump - just the opposite: we can take the opportunity to say how great it is but it could be even better if Wetherspoons et al cleaned up.

  i think the eyesore should be outed on tv, meridian would show shots of,the castle and cliffs, then pan in on snoops.
  
  a good public shaming would shake them up a bit.
