I do not see why the changes on the seafront will bring more jobs to Dover. Can anyone explain this? The area will look quite pleasant I suppose, though it was not that bad before. And it is not bringing anything else. There are no new shops or restaurants - no bandstand - so how can there be jobs. As far as I can see there are about 5 people working on the project - the most I have ever seen is 10. I just hope they manage to get it finished for the regatta. It most certainly will not be finished for the "Rolls Celebrations" this year.

Nor, indeed, the Help For Heroes landings on the beach on 30th May. A pity, it would have been nice for them to have landed on a beach that didn't look like the construction site it currently is.
True friends stab you in the front.
Perhaps there will be a need for more Horticultural Officers aka Gardeners!

Obviously this sort of work takes time so while it may be an inconvenience for the forthcoming events, in the long term it will enhance the seafront. The works will no doubt encourage potential investors in The Churchill. A revamped, high quality hotel on the seafront would be a very welcome development. At the end of the day, I think we should all be positive about any investment in our town. Hopefully it will be the start of much more to come!
