21:1641625I'd rather this country be solvent than spending money it hasn't got, wherever it is spent. I like the proposed changes but would rather have inward investment that creates jobs and local wealth.

22:1041646Vic - good luck, there is no chance that English Heritage will sell Motes Bulwark. The adjacent land is owned by a private company that paid about £40,000 and last time had it for sale for £400,000.

22:2241648Paul I know that, But at the time I did have words with their agents Malltbys I am looking at my old letters at this very time and all the old photos.I am looking at the last letter from the Kent Highways to me ."Cllr Matcham .I refer to the recent correspondence concerning the Motes Bulwark ,Following consultation with the D.H.B., it is clear that there is a recongnition of the benefits that an improvement of the site would bring. that is only part of along letter to me the date was 16.8.2004.

23:1741656The issue you have Vic is that the ultimate say will be had by English Heritage, DHB aren't really interested and the Kent Highways cannot do anything especially as access is highly dangerous these days with the increased traffic flow.
The only thing that will happen there is that the building gets burnt down, and the when EH finally do something with DUMPY and provide some sort of access from the site.
Been nice knowing you :)

Seafront seems to be progressing quite fast now, a lot of stuff is coming in pre-fabricated so it moving quicker than I realised:

Thanks Paul
The "very big" photo shows much more detail - thanks for that.

Are the shelters going to be revamped during this work? toughened glass perhaps and seat seperators on the benches to prevent the dossers setting up home in them as they do every summer.

I don't think so, except perhaps the ones by the swimmers statue. All the other shelters are outside the works zone.
True friends stab you in the front.

Shame that as they have looked so run down lately.
