22:1767684I started this thread on 6 February this year, and it ran to 1 April with 22 replies. I gave it another airing on 24 August and it`s got nearly 22 more replies in an even shorter time. We`ve also got a few more great contributing members on this thread since then, who have added much more interesting information. I have observed this sort of happening on the forum before when I`ve dug into the archive`s and got some other member`s thread`s going again. What I`m saying here is, if you don`t already do so, have a look back at some threads from the past, some of which are more interesting than some of the new one`s placed on here at times, (including mine I might add). Some may just deserve a fresh airing for a second time around, especially as there are alot more member`s on here now.

Life at my age is too short.

22:2467687 Anyway, back to this thread, and at last I`ve found this photograph, one of just three I took of Dover in 21 years. It`s dated 6th January 1992, and the reason I took it was that I saw all that green fencing across the road disappearing, and that the rest would surely follow. I`m sure you`ll work out the location here, but if not, there`s a clue in the middle background.

23:0867702Slightly off topic but geographically near and alcohol involved, I've just come back from a private celebration party at the Watersports Centre on the seafront, my first visit there. A great venue, super efficient staff and a brilliant view over the harbour from the balcony.

15:3967767Another winning picture there Kath, and that machine in both size and power could certainly give those juggernaut`s a run for their money, (though I`m not sure of it`s tractive effort). I wonder where that boiler was built, and whether it came all the way down here by road, or by ship?

06:4467901Seems difficult to believe there were houses/buildings on oth sides of the road too.
Is the fact that there's now only one side of buildings, down to the Luftwaffe, or official vandalism from various local authorities ?
