14:539190A typically well researched piece from the Sun. DTC do not have a limo, never entertained the man in question and the whole story is over a year old. Expect them to cover the Titanic sinking any day now.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

15:489192Ohhhh a little defensive there Chris!!
I thought it was a funny read anyway!
How much money did he manage to screw out of DTC along with the free meals/drinks etc then?
And more to the point how many of Nigel's vol-au-vonts did he eat?
I know a million ways to always pick the wrong thing to say

16:409197So if it was nothing to do with TOWN COUNCIL and nothing to do with DDC. Who was it to do with???
I thought Vic brought this guy down, or that's what i was led to believe, and I am sure Vic was a Town Councillor at that time.
I can confirm that when this "conman" made his appearance at Dover Carnival. We DID NOT pay for any of his services, nor did we supply him with a drink or food. Just setting the record straight from DCAL's point of view.
The Sun newspaper have spoken to both Terri and myself today about it.

18:499205I know exactly who is DDC & DTC John but I also know Nigel can smell a free buffet from 20 miles away!
Has anyone got a picture they can post of the man in question? I'd be interested to see how the likeness matches up.
Mandie, you must have met him so was you taken in?

19:059209Get on the bandwagon!! Year old no story - only some very gullible and naive people were duped - you can guess who - and the Town Council were not! the moment linda met him at a private party she saw thru him - no ratepayers money went astray.
At least we made the news and you know what they say ....
I also heard about Mr Dover - is that Ben?

19:119211Hi Jeanette. I can honestly say hand on heart. I saw him only from a distance and did not engage in any conversation with him.
Most of you know that on carnival day I am running around like crazy, so do not have time to stop and chat, so didn't pay to much attention.
I did remember in a telephone call that vic made to me in the run up to the day, where he said that "these people look very different in real life than when on TV."
Ya was right there. Gotta be honest I didn't see anyone in to much awe of this bloke
