Certainly took Miles and Barr long enough to get themselves up and running. As estate agents tend to all be in the same area in most towns I wonder if M&B are going against that trend or will others also move inland from the Market Square.

In London Road up from Corals, there's a couple of shops being gutted. On the 1st floor frontage you can see some old signwriting? What were these shops in yesteryear?
Have these properties been "Section 215'd"?

I noticed the same yesterday Karlos, they were a 'white goods' shop and earlier a greeting card shop, I used to get some bargains there. Not sure what the shops were previous to that, but I'm sure that more info will follow from our knowledgeable forumites

Prior to that it was a super bookshop called something like Prints and Prefaces, run by a courteous elderly gentleman.
Hopefully being brought up to the same standard as the Paints and Décor shop a bit further along which was the dreaded Dover Bargain Store for many years and a derelict ruin until the Dover Express mounted a campaign to get action taken.

The two shops at the top of London Road received change of use consent and planning permission some time ago to turn them into houses/flats, presume that is the purpose of the works

As shown in post 209,Big Dave has ceased trading,a shame as he was good at his job, fair with his prices and known to many of us on here.Hes fixed my pc on many occasions.I believe it was due to the general downturn in trading and the usual high st woes.

Simmonds the jewelers are apparently closing sometime after Christmas, such a shame as they have always been so helpful to myself and the Age Concern shop.
