It's all calm today I hear, bit of a breather before it all starts again at October half-term

One article from Mrs Elphicke, two developments I hadn't heard of:
I have long been campaigning to move the Dover TAP back away from Aycliffe. Its impact is grossly unfair on the local residents. Intended as a temporary fix back in 2015, TAP has become a permanent feature. At last,
some concrete proposals to tackle the Dover TAP location look set to be brought forward. I’ll be doing everything I can to support the move back of TAP and ensure that the needs of local residents continue to be at the forefront of roads and border planning, so both our Port and our town can grow and thrive together.
I am pleased that the design work on a new traffic solution has now been agreed upon to improve the Whitfield roundabout and I’ll be pressing to see that put in place.

They're going to need to have a plan for when the PAF start getting every Brit (and other non EU/EEA nationals) out of their cars in order to take their fingerprints.
Given current track records I'm predicting chaos and not being able to get to and fro for work.

Had a bad dream last night: Say No To Oil activists superglued themselves to the fingerprint ink pads.

Just what do these extremists think they will gain by disrupting traffic and people simply trying to earn money. Stop giving them the publicity they crave, ignore them and if they fall to bad.

I wonder on this the right to protest which is fast becoming illegal.
I do have çoncerns with so many things coming into play who's governing who.
Part of all of this is the body empowered to carry out many of these restrictions being the police , and look how far short of there own force was recently found in the Met Police.
If our law enforcers fall short then we have some serious issues .
If you say shut up put up with things is that right ?
We are fast becoming a police state and one that puts so many restrictions in place we head towards inciting anarchy.

There is a big difference between our right to protest and these fanatics disrupting so many daily lives, that is simply selfish and pointless as it puts us against their so called cause. The problem is these people simply want publicity rather than do anything more practical, this latest stunt has done nothing except alienate everyone who wanted to use that area.
I think I would prefer these stronger laws so long as the result means the majority can go about their daily lives as normal. We will have forgotten about this latest fiasco in a couple of weeks proving it was a complete waste of time but cost money that would be better spent by the emergency services helping or saving those who are in genuine need.

I listened to the debate last night at DDC where the conservative leader asked those able to rectify the issue and maybe the council needs to find another way to get them to listen

Melbourne Avenue is closed half way up for roadworks. Poor signage means you don’t know it’s closed until you’ve driven all the way up.

Some good news for those who travel on the M25. Maybe these irritating protesters realised how much they were annoying the public or maybe it was because the police were winning with their early morning tactics.

More 'white saviours'.

Like Farage, perhaps. Or when you do damage on his scale, do you cease to be an 'activist' and become a 'campaigner'?

Prevention rather than cure, I guess: "£45m [levelling-up money] to help the Port of Dover operate more efficiently, including adding more border control points." Or as Mrs E puts it: "help Keep Dover Clear". Not an insignificant sum when you consider nearly £27m buys a roll-on, roll-off ferry for Fair Isle in Shetland and £50m goes on Crossrail Cardiff - a new train line between Cardiff Bay and Cardiff Central Station.
