Kath, maybe not signs of spring but a need to fatten up before the snow arrives. We usually have a dumping of the white stuff in February!

the equipment that people like phil smith and john mavin carry around weighs very heavily, the next bit is how to get the best out of it and lastly, most important is the patience required to wait for the subject to make an entrance.

Bought a bucket of fat balls at the animal foods place near the White Mill, Sandwich - got the last one, they have had a run on them. The birds are certainly feeding themselves up just now. Especially the spotted woodpeckers.

i find poundland to be the best for wild bird food, unlike a lot of their merchandise the packets are the same size as other shops and much cheaper.
these 2 from phil are of a grey wagtail at bushey ruff.

i have never seen a cat do anything like that before, they normally hate water.
mine sits on the edge of the bath when i am it, sneering at me - one flick of water and she is downstairs like a shot.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.
