I'm not a beer drinker at all, but love wine (and Single Malt Scotch):
Red - Chateauneuf Du Pape, Cotes Du Rhone or Bull's Blood
Rosé - Cotes Du Provence or Mateus
White - Pouilly Fumé, Pouilly Fuissé, Sancerre or Chablis
Champagne - Vintage Krug if anyone else is buying, Lanson if I'm in the chair.
Jeanette served us a lovely Rosé in The White Horse when we had some Japanese friends over recently, but I've forgotten what it was. Nothing to do with the quantity drunk!
Scotch - Highland Park, Dalwhinnie or The Glenlivet. There are some big 'No thank yous' with Scotch, though - Glenfiddich, Laphroaig, Talisker or (worst of all by a long, long way) Sun Tory. Japanese Single Malt - who thought that was a good idea?
True friends stab you in the front.

Brian, you should be patronising english beer mate. And is the 18% to get you p....d quicker? It`s wine for me most of the time, and the Italian Soave is merely an inexpensive one to keep (h)andy, but when the brother in law`s up, we`ll try the more pricey one`s. Not an expert in any way, I do enjoy sampling any wines. The odd pint on a warm day is pleasant though.

Italian wines are by far my favourites, although I love them all, truth be told! Proper bitter, proper ale, that's the stuff! Andy - I'm with you about the Japanese whisky - WTF is that made from?! Black Bush and Jamesons are always always welcome, although those lovely peaty meaty ones have a place, the Laphroaigs. mmmmmmmmmmmm..........

I think I would get in trouble if i hadnt at least sampled SN beers.. on a bad day with the wind in the wrong direction.. i can smell them brewing..
Colin, how can you be exhorting Brian to drink English beer, and then rabbit on about Italian wines? Surely you should be extolling the virtues of good English wine made here in Kent?

Good point Sid. I have tried some english wines, but I can`t take to them for some reason.

You`ll have to educate me here Brian on proper beers and strength`s. I thought all this real ale business was the sort after stuff?
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.
Colin, the only way to educate a palate is to try the drink, which I have always thought a good thing.........in fact, the first popping cork is about to whiz past my ears for this Sunday afternoon. Swiftly followed by a nice red with dinner. Hic and yay!!

Thanks Jeanette. Wasn't Echo Falls a horror movie?
Bern - spot on about left over alcohol. No such thing, like left over chocolate.
