Well said Captain #19 far to many.
"There is only one RNLI tasked with 'saving lives at sea' which somehow manages to cover offshore, inshore, beaches and even the River Thames, and for all its faults seems to have almost universal support."
I support them and WHPS all the other money grabbing charities get nothing unless a friend is actively collecting for one of them, then they get a nominal amount. My pet hate are the charities that advertise on TV with emotive images of starving children, just think how many meals that ad's cost could provide.

You want a pet hate? How about the millions a year 'we' give to the Donkey Sanctuary!

Back on topic, with the government talking about cancelling sporting events which attract large crowds, at least Dover Athletic's home games are safe.

Greetings Pop Pickers!
And here it is, the Pick of the Pops top 10: up five places at 10 it's coronavirus; climbing two places to 9 it's coronavirus; straight in at 8 it's the US Democrats with 'How to throw an election, part 2'; staying at 7 it's coronavirus; down one to 6 it's coronavirus; straight in at 5 it's coronavirus; there are new entries at 4 and 3 for celebrity gossip with 'Who GAF?' and 'Who GAF Again?'; and still there at 2 it's coronavirus. But for the third week in a row at number 1 it's...you guessed it folks...coronavirus.
Let's have a bash.

For those of a nervous disposition avoid the Maidstone area.
"On Monday, North East London NHS Foundation Trust confirmed a case of coronavirus at Vinters Business Park - home to Maidstone Studios and an office suite used by the trust.
The trust said its staff member did not come into contact with patients, and its employees are working from home.
ITV Meridian, which uses Maidstone Studios, has also sent home staff who were at the site last week."

Apparently all we need to do is wash hands and sing Happy Birthday (obvs).
Seriously, how do we now turn off the virus sodden tap which has been turned on before other people washed their hands?

Just wash your hands you'll be fine, sneeze in a tissue, you can spend up to 15 min with someone who has it safely, and other bits of nonsense designed to stop us worrying about the simple fact there is absolutely bugger all we can do to stop it!

And several numpties all over the country have pitched up at A&E or doctors surgeries with symptoms, causing panic.

We just need to be more positive about it. Sing rule Britannia, put the kettle on and ignore the experts. That's how it works, right?

The experts know what's likely coming, and their advice is about calming hysteria. (I'm sure they said sing happy birthday.)
But on a brighter note, being self employed I'm looking forward to my 2 weeks paid holiday once citizens advice gets their way.

Unfortunately I think it is the experts who are helping to fuel the hysteria together with the media who seem to have little else on their blinkered little minds at the moment.

Perhaps if we stopped calling it coronavirus (because there are a shed-load of those buggers) and called it SARS-CoV-2 instead (or 2019-nCoV if you're old-fashioned) it might stop people talking so freely about it.

As with Norovirus, you use a disposable paper towel if the tap and/or soap dispenser is a hand-operated one. (Incidentally, Norovirus remains valid on surfaces for hours and hand gels, as opposed to hand washing, are not particularly effective.)
(Not my real name.)
