Well thought out article highlighting the radical ideas coming forward from Labour whilst the Tories are too weighed down with Brexit which is becoming a bore to a lot of voters.

The Business Secretary sticking his oar in, contradicting the PM just before Conference starts - he does make a good point though.

One of the few politicians around at the moment who is talking any sense. Whether he will be allowed to put country before party is, however, another matter entirely.

Party conferences are more stage managed now . The days of delegates being able to openly be critical of the party have gone
OK so if your sitting in opposition you don't want a maverick statement to ruin it all and you do need some discipline
I'm all for having accountable MPs but the present fiasco over the Labour MP in Canterbury showed how out of touch some members still are
For some you mustn't be critical of Corbyn
Come on get real. On the opposition benches in past years he was one of the biggest rebels
It's all a bit of a sham at the mo

I can only hope he fails his audition. According to a couple of polls people would still prefer May to him so he is not as popular as he thinks he is.

David Mitchell's column in today's Observer about Boris is hilarious.

Here is the piece in question, incidentally Ruth Davidson is giving a speech tomorrow afternoon which is usually the highlight of Tory Conferences then on Tuesday Boris will lead a rally celebrating himself before the PM sends everyone to sleep on Wednesday.

This is not a true reflection of the Labour membership. Plenty of newer members have been critical of Corbyn's/shadow cabinet's EU stance. The difference is that members want their Parliamentary representative to represent the constituency members and not glibly get elected in Labour strongholds then do their own thing or that of their peripheral 'sponsor'. Chris Leslie is a case in point, if he thinks he got elected rather than Labour getting elected he should ask to represent Labour in a marginal and see how he does.

Specifically, it was the "For some you mustn't be critical of Corbyn" point I was responding to. Communion, albeit very tasty, has not sulled my denses, Rev Spooner.

I can see the thinking from the EU here, just let her talk tough at Conference then concede more in negotiations afterwards.

Peter Bone MP a lifelong Eurosceptic stated today that Nigel Farage should have led our negotiating team - would certainly have been livelier if he had.
