A clear pitch for the top job although he makes a good point about the Chequers deal being meat and drink to the far right.

I didn't see the speech from the PM but apparently it went down well in the hall making her leadership look secure. Reading this report austerity is over which sounds rather hollow with the biggest cuts yet to local authorities due next April. Apparently councils will be encouraged to borrow vast sums to build new homes for people on their waiting lists!!

Goodness, that woman really is an embarrassment. Is 'cringe' her middle name? Dancing Queen's dead to me now. Fortunately it's my least favourite Abba number.

You have to hand it to Cruella she has out flanked Boris at every turn. When "call me Dave" jumped ship over the Referendum result the job was going to Boris or Gove but she won through, then when she realised that the tousled one was gunning for her she made him Foreign Secretary knowing that he would make a fool of himself and also keep him too busy to plot against her. Boris fans queued for hours for his big speech and cheered him to the rafters and then she won over the people that mattered in the main hall without actually backing down on any part of the "Chequers" thingy.

I thought it was genius - that move means everybody immediately moves on from Boris Johnson. As cringeworthy as it was, worked a treat. Whether you liked it or hated it, you're talking about it....

There has been hype for many years and there was nothing glamorous about Mrs May and those B awful jackets she insists on wearing, they always look a size to small.
I am not a fan of hers but I thought she upstaged Boris beautifully with that lighthearted entrance.

Having read it through properly the cleverest bit of all was to offer more dosh for public services if the party backed whatever deal she does with the EU. MPs and Brussels will go with that.

One thing everyone should be enlightened to coming out of Labours conference is that Labour if they ever get in to number 10 (quite doubtful)
are not going to immediately nationalise the railways
as each franchise comes up they may nationalise it
So it years away in some cases .

Heard the PM earlier stressing the importance of the party backing her all the way adding that Brexit may not happen otherwise!!
Gauntlet thrown down and my reading of it is that on the 19th she will agree to keep us in the Customs union until such time as technology can override it. Solves trade problems for all of Europe and solves the Northern Ireland problem, what's not to like?
