Just seen it. Learnt nothing.
'This is exactly the kind of issue I will fight for' he says but what does he propose doing about it?

Good luck to a Councillor who will really work for the isuies that concern those residents. The Leader of the Council who knows who it will be,needs to lobby parliament.Lorries should not be queuing day and night so near a residential area.DHB need to be involved. Its lovely we now have a new Leisure Centre, St James etc but local issues are very important.

Basically the same as the Clarendon traffic issues, like TAP nothing to do with DDC.

I am now switched from Tower Hamlets to St Radigunds which is even further away from the Charlton Green area. No idea what the candidates will do for my little bit of Dover or what they are like except for the one person who will never get my vote.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I'm more interested now in the man she would never vote for
And why
Sue
This local election is going to be the lowest turnout for some time this usually affects the Labour vote as does lib dems and greens standing
That said though if Labour in Dover was around and active all year round they would walk in
Seats I think that could change are
Maxton. Elms vale
Mill hill
Castle and town
Other less likely but may
St rads
Buckland
Tower hamlets

Hi sue
Having been involved in local politics 40 years most elections the blue rince brigade lol
Always turn out for the tories
Labour struggles to get its core vote out and with minority parties and individuals standing all will affect labour's vote

Good luck to any councillors taking on the Highways England over the effects of Dover TAP on Aycliffe residents.
This is a couple of quotes sent to our from Highways England local MP who has been campaigning on our behalf:
"Our air quality has reviewed the quality concerns for those located close to the A20 and has concluded that TAP would not cause any of the UK air quality thresholds to be exceeded "
"It is the matter of for the Kent Police to enforce the 40 mph limit along with the sounding of horns when TAP is in operation"
So basically Highways pass buck for something they implemented and do not give a sod about the residents of Aycliffe and the effect of TAP on Aycliffe

Got stuff today through from the Tories about "unacceptable disruption and noise levels that can occur from the lorries that enter the town", but nothing about what can be done about it.
