Just because you don't take an interest in politics doesn't mean that politics won't take an interest in you. PERICLES.

How can KCC justify an increase in Councillors allowances and on the other hand we can expect cuts in services.I wonder how many Councillors car share? When I had to attend meetings at County Hall I travelled with officers from DDC and we met Officers from Thanet District Council at Brenley Corner to share cars .When I went on my own it was a bus into,Dover then two trains to Maidstone travelling on a cheap day return. It was hectic. Changing trains at Ashford. Now they complain if they have to attend a long meeting.

On a rainy day it can be interesting watching a meeting at County Hall.I always look out for our Councillors.Probably don't want to upset Mr Carter.

Not surprising as a former DDC Fuhrer described it as like a gentleman's club with such a huge Tory majority.

I remember about four years ago when it was the fashion for Tory councillors and activists to defect to UKIP resulting in many victories for the latter in the KCC election.
First meeting back they were all back slapping each other with the new intake claiming to be the opposition although they later voted with their Tory colleagues on every issue.

Worse howard one of the UKIP's first speeches without prompts from his tory friends was thathe(the leader)was worth far more in allowances wanting a big increase
thankfully most lost there seats at the last KCC elections
