I'm not sure if any of you know Keith but he's a very nice man, by his own admission he gets a bit excited on forums. He's an old style working man from Aylesham who is genuinely concerned at the direction the UK is taking, it's fair to say he's not earmarked for a role in PR. like many from his construction background the nuances of political correctness have passed him by, I'm absolutely certain if he were to meet anybody he's upset he'd apologise and buy them a drink.

I didn't quite know what thread this should grace but post # 3722 was a decider, a compliment like this should be a turning point in inter forum relations, especially as it was posted on DL!

Now that's a result! Former England star John Terry makes £10million profit on nine-bedroom mansion after selling it for £16million
Chelsea defender received an out of the blue offer for nine-bed mansion
Luxury property was built next door to England star's former home
Red-brick property sold for £5.25million last year
Now mystery investor snaps up Terry's 'dream home' for £16million
Sale prompts further speculation that Terry may be planning move abroad
Chelsea and England defender John Terry has received £21.25million after selling his two neighbouring houses, including one which was to be his dream home.
The footballer, together with his wife and twin children, had planned to live in the nine-bedroom white mansion, which was built next door to his old property.
Terry, 33, sold his original red-brick house last year for £5.25million after three years on the market, but then received an out of the blue £16million offer for his new home.
He had bought the luxury pad for £1.8million in 2007 and spent a further £4million renovating it, even building a man-made fishing lake in the back garden.

Elite 'superbankers' get record bonuses - but rest are left crying into their Peroni
All but the absolute elite are expected to be disappointed by this year's payouts
If you're planning on hitting the bars of the City and Canary Wharf in the coming weeks, expect to see many a banker crying into their Peroni. Bonus season is upon them, and it could be one of the most divisive in years as London's highest flying "superbankers" win big at the expense of the rank-and-file.
City bankers make millions from advising on high-profile takeovers and financing deals, but for many, the most nerve-shredding negotiations are taking place with their own bosses right now as they try to secure their annual bonus.
These discussion are reaching crunch point at US banks such as JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs, where staff will be informed of their 2013 "comp" - shorthand for bonus - ahead of their annual results next week.
Bankers at European firms such as Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse and UBS will have to wait until early February, but they will take their lead from Wall Street, using any evidence of a bumper payout to broker a better deal. But disappointing results and ongoing restructuring in an industry still recovering from the financial crisis of 2008 and the European crisis of 2011 have added tension to discussions.
A return of lucrative mega-deals in 2013, including Vodafone's £84 billion sale of its US mobiles division and the Treasury's £3.2 billion disposal of Lloyds bank shares, resulted in huge fees for a handful of leading banks and their elite "rainmakers".

HomeServe faces £35m regulator fine
Home emergency and boiler repair firm says it has received a draft warning from the FCA regarding its sales, marketing and complaints practices

The home emergencies and repairs group HomeServe is set to be fined £34.5m for mis-selling and poor complaints handling, it has been disclosed.
HomeServe, which insures more than 2 million people in the UK against burst pipes, broken gas boilers and electrical problems, told the stock market it had received a draft "warning notice" from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) relating to an investigation into "historic sales and marketing, controls and governance, and complaints handling".
The company said the regulator was planning to fine it £34.5m for these failings, and admitted this was several times higher than it had been expecting.

Saga may be a big local company employing many local people, but they should be fined for their bad practices too - towards their staff and the way the staff have to relate to their customers.

The only pro is that they do offer good insurance, the big con (sic) is that their staff are treated so badly - the more sales you make for them, the more they will cut your commission down and in most cases, stop it altogether. You can only work 35 hours a week and on minimum wage, it doesn't cover most house-hold costs, so you'll always be on the bones of your arse.
There are so many things that are wrong there I could make a post 20 pages long.

There are many such examples on egp`s but Roger you appear to be selective and
cherrypick only when the post affects you or your family personally.Take the blinkers off
evaluate some others even if they involve your party.

I think you do exactly the same.
I am only selective inasmuch as where I see unfairness, I will say so.
I do see the bigger picture Reg. thank you.

Lets hope the German justice system is as efficient as their manufacturing is........fingers crossed
German prosecutors set to charge Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone over alleged $44m bribe
In 2012, a court sentenced German banker Gerhard Gribkowsky to eight-and-a-half years in prison for taking the alleged payment for organising the sale of a large stake in the sport
Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone is expected to face charges in Germany over an alleged $44m bribe paid to a German banker who organised the sale of a large stake in F1, it was reported.
Sky News said a source had told them that prosecutors in Munich were expected to issue a statement on Thursday confirming the start of legal action, although this could still be delayed or an out-of-court settlement might be reached.
The case centres on $44m (about £27m) payment that Mr Ecclestone made to banker Gerhard Gribkowsky.
In 2012, a German court sentenced Mr Gribkowsky to eight-and-a-half years in prison for taking the alleged bribe.
Mr Ecclestone has persistently denied the money was a bribe, but admitted that he had paid £8m and his Bambino family trust had given the remainder.
In 2011, he told The Independent that the money was payment for work that Mr Gribkowsky had done as a property consultant for the trust.
Mr Ecclestone previously said the payment was made to stop Mr Gribkowsky reporting false allegations about his tax affairs to the Inland Revenue. He claimed that Mr Gribkowsky suggested that he would inform the tax authority that Mr Ecclestone controls his family's offshore trust, which could make him liable to pay the tax on the estimated £2.5bn it has received from F1.
