We would need to remove 3 million EU worker from the UK before the labour market stabilized, and wages started to rise at the bottom
Only a ukip government would do this using a work permit refusal policy
For unskilled workers
Workers on work permits would not be able to get , benefits or N H S.
Nor there families if accompanied ,
this would also include free schooling, they would have to pay.

Sandys Welcomes Rise in Minimum Wage After Raising Issue with PM
_________________________________________________________
South Thanet MP Laura Sandys today welcomed the announcement by the Low Pay Commission that the minimum wage will rise by an inflation-busting 3%.
After calling on the Prime Minister to look at a minimum wage increase in questions earlier this month, Laura said she was 'delighted' by the news.
The rise to an hourly rate of £6.50 will add an extra £370 to the annual pay packets of more than a million UK workers.
Laura Sandys said:
"I am delighted at the announcement of a significant increase in the minimum wage. I really do feel strongly about this issue which is why I urged the Prime Minister to look into it earlier this month.
"Though this is great news for families, it is important to ensure that this is balanced with measures to support small businesses. I strongly support the Government's corporate tax cuts and the scrapping of burdensome red tape, along with a £2000 cut in national insurance.
"Working people suffered through the recession and it is right that they feel the benefits of the recovery. This increase will mean that hard-pressed families can really start to feel the effects in their pockets, and will further reinforce the principle that it always pays to be in work."

Why would employers pay above the minimum wage? when the uk labour markets is awash with cheap labour from abroad?
Simple economics open doors promotes low wages.

I liked the one where he said that one worker was his wife...and then asked her what her name was!

Are they missing a point here? Isn't one of the factors why men are taking part-time jobs to do with them needing to supplement their poorly paid full-time jobs?

Reading the article I think the answer is quite clear; the women have taken the full time jobs so men are having to take the part time jobs the women were doing previously

I disagree Mr Barrington. I'm sure, if I may be permitted to generalise, that the men still need to earn and therefore are having to work extra jobs to make up the difference/shortfall. It is unlikely that a huge swathe of men are in a position to drop hours and go to part-time, in my opinion.

I think it's a bit of both plus a large number of twentysomethings choosing to work part time hours because the poor little diddums find it too difficult to work more than 30 hours a week.

If you work less than 16 hours a week, you may be able to claim Income Support or Jobseeker’s Allowance. However, if you have a partner who lives with you and works 24 hours a week or more, you will not be able to claim these benefits. Your partner may be able to claim Working Tax Credit instead. This applies whether your partner is lesbian, gay or heterosexual and whether you are married, in a civil partnership or just living together.
You could also be entitled to some Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction to help with the costs of rent and Council Tax. If you have children, you can claim Child Tax Credit and Child Benefit. You can get these benefits whether or not you do any work. You may also be able to get help such as free prescriptions, free school meals, help with the costs of a new baby or help with funeral costs, depending on the benefits or tax credits you get and your income.
Why bother working extra hours for a marginal increase in money?
