#40 Oh Captain, my Captain, if you are equating Momentum to the propagators of the Poll Tax riots, you are very misinformed. Now then, you are (by my analysis of your posts) a very well informed man with a background and political pedigree as well. This makes me wonder why you are reacting to the 'threat' of Momentum. Might I suggest that your conflation of Momentum and the Hard Left/Poll Tax Riots is, in itself, another Tory device to try to misinform people and skew an argument? In short, Momentum were and are (just relabelled) the "Jeremy Corbyn for Labour Leader" campaign; they are still active - and, in fact, now affiliated to the Labour Party - as many 'Labour' MPs where in fact neo-liberal Tories with red rosettes. Momentum members and supports are the lion's of the Labour party (just look at the overwhelming mandate Jeremy Corbyn received in both leadership elections). The Tory leader won the Tory leadership by default (Leadsom withdrawing) and has been kept in power due to the poison chalice of BREXIT.
Today, I celebrated wholeheartedly the number 10 May - it was, however, relating to the afternoon's rugger: Jonny May's 10th England try.
...And, in response to the Hard Right "I know it when I see it", I see the consequences of it every day: the homeless; the food bank user; the school asking me to support with monetary donations; the GP surgeries closing; the lack of police officers; the obscene profit reports and dividend payments from former state owned industries whilst still providing an inadequate service. I know the wolf in sheep's clothing Hard Right when I see it.

Yet it still seems easier for poor people in market economies to buy flat screen TVs, than it is for wealthy people in centrally planned economies to buy toilet paper?

What a ludicrous analogy. What centrally planned economies are you referring to where the rich are running short of bog paper? I doubt that anyone posting on this forum is against a market economy. But I do object (along with an increasing number of others in this country) to an unconstrained market society. That's why this sort of ideology will see the end to a Tory government for a few years whether you like Corbyn or not.

Unfortunately Bob is rather out of touch and doesn't understand the prevailing mood that rails against the free market i.e capitalism. Gone are the days when people found it relatively easy to own their own home, run a car and buy shiny things for the home.

Which is the point of my post #43, Mr McSweeney1. I don't consider the Capt out of touch - just threatened by a resurgent socialist Labour Party, that, as the manifesto proved, resonates with the many ... and terrifies the vested interests of the few.

A tweet from 4 years ago and a newspaper article from last year. The Wikileaks, Panama Papers and more recently the Paradise Papers have enlightened the whole world to the corruption perpetrated by those in power. The point is that abuse of power, the avoidance and evasion of taxation, the willingfully ignoring the negative effects of one's own policies of the very people you should be serving is heinous. I am not afraid to call that wrong and to challenge the status quo. Why would you want to accept a broken system?

I think these biased and blinkered party arguments or debates get us nowhere, all leaders together with their ideologies have their faults it is simply that some on both sides are worse than others.

All this stuff about Corbyn and the IRA will mean nothing to anyone under 50 besides according to prominent Republican Danny Morrison, Douglas Hurd and other high ranking Tories had secret peace talks before Corbyn.

If mass immigration was really the countries biggest concern then ukip would have been swept into power instead they have been swept aside.
Ukip not really needed now that we have supposedly voted to Leave, but not many people (even Remainers) were happy with the uncontrolled influx of immigrants, way too many of them and hence Brexit

See #37.
Jezza is merely 'the acceptable face of' etc.
Behind him is a whole load of tech-savvy mini-Peter Taaffes ignored by the 'authorities' (unlike only a few years ago) since their resources are overstretched trying not to get you and I being blown up by Mohammedans at the Christmas Market.
