Total holding capacity for illegals c420.
Arrivals yesterday 393 (Home Office figures).
Move along the bus. Plenty of room on the top deck!
On the plus side Waitrose in Hythe are advertising for a security guard!
(NB. NOT a detention centre. Allowed to wander in and out during daylight hours in spit of fact that Home Office doesn't know who the Hell they are, nationality, background etc)
Any spare ex army bases in Dover area?

Hm! How about some Nissen huts around Swingate towers? Six persons per hut, obviously.

I agree these illegals immigrants need a roof over their heads, they should be securely held so they can not just disappear into the illegal economy.
What irritates me are all those who were born in this country or have lived here for ages and have waited on various homing lists for ages have been side stepped or ignored.

Talking about Nissen huts I remember them at the bay just as you came into the village in the war I was staying with my gran in Kingsdown rd and a mate of mind lived in them we was very young but they were not that bad after the war they were moved out to Ringwolled .

The illegal economy needs protecting; it may be the only one we have soon enough.

Problem is years ago it used to be 'local homes for local people'.
Change of legislation and interpretation meant 'homes for those most in need'.
Even within UK this means migration of people.
Prime example. Set up half decent local homeless shelter/soup kitchen and people will 'migrate' from local authority next door and have a right to accommodation.
Leave the jam jar open. Expect wasps.

Jan they say that every cloud has a silver lining. So come year end all of those who have given up on the UK and voted to stay in the EU may leave or would have left for the promised land.
Mind you this could present a logistical problem which I suspect has not been considered by our government.
Some of the millions of empty properties that this would create could then be used to house those in need.
I haven’t worked out what to do with the surplus though.........any suggestions?

Good to see that the arrival of the Clandestine Channel Threat Commander is having an effect then. It seems he met with the French ambassador this time. Presumably he feels a new approach is needed. No doubt he will have got the same answer as he got from all the other French officials he's been occupying his time with.
