Small minded, humourless and unsophisticated from a town which had fallen upon hard times in the arse end of nowhere just off the M1.
You can understand just how much she must have resented and secretly been in awe of her Oxford contemporaries from wealthy families and public schools heading off skiing while she returned to Alderman Robert's house where he had risen to the lofty height of mayor which he actually thought important.
No wonder she wanted to overturn the status quo, be they those who had not risen by merit or the two faced socialists intent on imposing their plans on the workers they despised as being too stupid to know what was good for them.
Her attitude was always 'if I can get so far from such a lowly background so can you if you stop whining and expecting a free ride on someone else's efforts.'
She was right.
I assume Cllr Sansum is having difficulty getting his tongue off the window.
Incidentally Haddock, as a politico can you name the elected PMs since 1945 that didn't go to Oxford?

Absolutely nothing wrong with Oxford, that wasn't my point.
Cllr Sansum refers to Blair and Thatcher's "own", but unsurprisingly fails to differentiate between them. Self appointed Saint Keef is the epitome of a class warrior. Thatcher went to grammar school, Blair was at Fettes, the most expensive school in Scotland. However Blair wore a red rosette so everything is fine.
Anyway, of our post war elected PMs only Churchill and Major didn't go to Oxford.

You should write a history book Brian, it would make interesting reading.

I see Charlie is looking for yet another to join his home for journalists who have fallen upon hard times!

In all seriousness this would look great on some young person's CV and I really hope there's someone local who is qualified to do it.

Rubbish. This is another of your untruths. YOUR party are equally giving support for Section 40 of Crimes and Court Act.
See page 8 para 7 below.
It has 'all party support' because all parties are full of the same kleptocratic duplicitous philandering scum who live in fear of their doings being exposed by a free press.

You need to get up to date Bob. Keith hasn't been a member of the Labour Party for several years.

He's not a member because he was expelled from the party, pre election last year he wrote to the Mercury several times exhorting people to vote Labour.

Ah well we are in the era of "post-truth politics" so why let pesky facts get in the way of opinions and points of view.
On a more serious note the current political climate smacks of post great depression Europe - perhaps the left ought to take a leaf out of Sweden's book at that time and offer a real alternative to the pedlars of jingoistic sound bite nationalism etc.

It is common knowledge that he left the Labour party because of the directive from HQ that the local party was to have " all wimmin" short lists so it must have been at least 5 years ago possibly more. The late Reg Hansell resigned for the same reason at the same time.

Small correction to the above as Reg must have resigned earlier as he stood as an Independent in Eythorne and Shepherdswell in 2007. He left the party for the same reason though.

Haha! Common knowledge! Sansum was expelled, I know it, he knows it, the all women nonsense was a smokescreen.
I've challenged him loads of times and he runs away, only the hard of thinking fall for his tripe.

quote #1 report
During the election 4 weeks It was funny as i went shopping i spoke to all the parties.
In one day the lib dems had a stall and i said hello
further down g prosser was outside town hall whom i spoke to
I also spoike with Vic then went shopping
then on way back from shopping spoke to vic again.
I'v since heard a rumour that im now a UKIP member
So lets set the record right
Im a Lefty(on most issues)although will always listen to reason,
and will always vote Labour at National level.
At local level I will also vote labour(apart from if any of the rebel 4 stand here, where one at present) if this is the case I wont vote FOR that person.
So there you have it.
SORRY VIC
LOL
Hilarious.
