the 2 brothers did work hard, and a certain bearded right wing tory from walmer made his views clear on how much he disliked there type, the 2 brothers were even moved away from him at council meetings, certainly was not much secrecy quite open.
Whilst I happy to hear the name when i next see you, what you do need to pick up on, is my point above, there were some lefties about at around the 1991 time, but later came the right wing nasties who hounded out 2 of your hard working cllrs.

What you are saying is quite scandalous Keith. I know that 'bearded right winger' very well and he is a good bloke, you exaggerate personal differences. He was certainly no nastier than you and a lot less nasty than some of those characters elected on your side in 1991 who changed the whole character of DDC for the worse.
Incidentally one of the brothers was down in Dover as a volunteer for the Olympics.

I was just levelling things up that our bearded friend was as nasty(if there were any nasty labour people in 1991!!!! i dont recall any!!!!

I remember Mr. Henson - and his joke, Howard; I didn't know what that word meant either, until it was explained, or I looked it up, then I thought it was funny, more than offensive.
Great word though isn't it ? (Unless you don't have a sense of humour - I could think of a few peple on here it could/would apply to).

But going back to barrys comments im happy to recieve the 3 people he feels were lefties
but should also recognise now he has been named mr henson who also hounded out 2 of his own tory cllrs
its about balance.
with regard to the original thread
heres my prediction labour will win by 190 majority
i say this as its always the lowest turn out in this ward
and the indy isnt up to much
so any other predictions?

Gordon Henson was not the bearded right winger' I was thinking about. I remember him being something of a problem rebel with few redeeming features full stop, nothing to do with the issue to hand or him being right wing, he was just 'problem' as much for the Conservatives as anyone else.
Keith - I will give you the name of the Labour councillor who was worried about speaking to the Tories because of those lefty nasties one of whom I will also name.
