Not me Reg I only knew about it after the event which is surprising as I follow the efforts of St Radigunds Residents Association closely. I doubt they have the resources to leaflet the area so social media is their only method of communication. 24 attendees is very disappointing as the development will have a negative affect on all in the area so the developers scored a minor victory.

It was at the same meeting you posted the Facebook pic on on the 25th but I assume the residents association didn't know about the developers attendance as it didn't mention it.

Looking at the design, Prora comes to mind.

The developer seems keen to engage with the local community by delivering leaflets to all homes in the area detailing the updated plans which include 6 houses.

I wonder if it is like last time when only a few houses very near the old hospital were informed of that meeting, the majority of those in the area said they knew nothing about any meeting.
I notice there is no mention of the prison like design and the houses will obviously replace the play area which is a shame.

The developer is making great play about leafletting the residents and listening to their concerns, stressing that they are not duty bound to and are just doing the locals a favour. The truth of the matter in my view is that they weren't expecting any opposition to their original plans and have been taken aback by locals who are organising themselves to put up objections. Unlikely that residents will benefit as all the dwellings are for sale not rent.

Does seem the PR wagon is in full swing, would like to know who the 1000 residents invited were!

Resident could benefit but they need to make sure that not only do they make the developer aware of what they want/expect but also their councillors to ensure that any CIL (s106) funding is spent for their benefit e.g. resiting the play area

Not sure if this still applies but there used to be a play area up by the school which is a fair walk for young children from the old hospital site.

There is Jan but nothing but a basketball hoop in it, after continually being vandalised.
There is the new play area on Barwick rd about to open which will be the real reason they have pledged the money to triangles, nothing to do with the additional profit of six houses on top of the original application because that's what the community asked for so that's why we are doing it, no honest its true.

After all the huffing and puffing late last year only one comment so far from the public on the planning application and this one from a consultee that deserves the Nobel prize for cheek.

Plus ca change?
Sensing a PR disaster, in 1978 the councillors had set up a public inquiry that they hoped would lay the blame on the architect; but when the inquiry, commissioned by Camden from the National Building Agency, was finally completed two years later, the finger was pointed not at the architect but at the councillors.

Had a fascinating exchange of views with the developer in which I asked whether he would follow the dictates of Stagecoach and provide up to 400 Dover Megarider bus tickets. He referred me to the overall travel strategy in his planning application. I have cut away the dross and leave you with this.
a 50p travel voucher to each resident would cover his promise.
9.3 The following are to be provided in the development as part of the Travel Plan:
Secure cycle parking with each residential unit and for visitors
Charging points for electric vehicles
Moving-in packs with all available information on access to local facilities and all sustainable transport
Travel vouchers for all new residents which can be exchanged for cycles or train or bus tickets.
