The 91 was every two hours until last September Sue. There are slightly fewer buses on Saturday afternoons nowadays because not enough people are using them.

What's wrong with going via St Radigund's? At least you have 3 buses an hour.

Because it takes twice as long, usually overcrowded, lots of younger people with pushchairs. We always had three buses an hour but now it takes twiceas longIt never worked before and it's no good now.IF it went VIA Crabble Hill we could pick up the 15 ,the younger people are not happy as Thebus by the time it gets to Coombe Valley is full and the people waiting at Cherry tree have a job getting a seat"

I don't know what these villagers are complaining about, if they had used the service it wouldn't have been cut.

That's the same with all of them, Howard. If enough people from River used the bus to town, it wouldn't have to go via St Radigunds to have enough passengers to be viable. Mind you, River never really has been that good a bus territory outside peak hours. In my conducting days 50 years ago, when the 95 ran every 15 minutes, we rarely got into double figures by the time we got to Buckland. Rush hour was a different matter, with large numbers of season ticket holders - where have they all gone?

Going off the subject slightly I think Stagecoach should consider buying a few new buses as so many are breaking down. Yesterday I caught a 63 double decker early afternoon which was running 10 minutes late, normally they are only used in the morning rush hour.

The first buses out of River when you can use a bus pass are usually full by the time they get to Coombe Valley Road. The old route via Crabble Hill picked up people on Crabble Hill and always a crowd at Buckland Bridge.
I remember the 95 plenty of people using the bus Surely it was East Kent in those days.Double deckers with a conductress.Lots of young people with famlies me included now thesepeople are OAPs me included.

This new 92 route Elvington and Eythorne/Dover looks a good one with picking up/dropping off in Coldred, Shepherdswell, Lydden, Temple Ewell, River and Whitfield. All the buses will serve our hospital that is adding more services all the time, therefore more appointments so credit to Stagecoach on that.

The 92 route may look great if you live in River or Temple Ewell and have lots of hospital appointments. If you live in Eythorne and work in the town centre it represents a further deterioration in the service. We can’t get to Canterbury now except via Dover and every bus now goes round the houses through River, St Radigunds and Coombe Valley, taking 50 minutes to do a journey which, in the car, I can do in 12. In fact if you are fit, the journey can be walked in little more than double the time the bus takes. And the last bus home is now 1735 compared with 2157 a couple of years ago.
First world problem I suppose.......

Pablo you are correct the main problem is the journey times are so long and the fact the last bus home for Eythorne is so.early.Its all geared for hospital .facilities.I rarely use the buses now as the journey times have increased. The 91 when it leaves River for Folkestone may have one person or none,

Evening services out to villages were subsidised by KCC who withdrew funding a while back.

Thankfully sue I'm answerable to my community and Dover Town.
Of course since the outset I have opposed many of these cutbacks
spending all day in pencester with a petition, and in regular contact with stagecoach, lobbying groups, locals, bus drivers plus much more,.
But you did ask..........

might as well not have a bus service, but we need a bus company they accommodate direct services to and from the town center, and at regular times.

With regard to seating at St James maybe the town council would consider financing some if Legal & General give permission?

With our town council history on seating Howard that would be a mistake!
