In view of the serious allegations concerning Cameron MacSween in today's Dover Express I am surprised not to have received a communication of some sort from the Chamber. When Roger Walkden got the heave-ho we members knew about it almost as soon as Roger did.

I suggest everyone be very careful about what you say.
The Chamber will be making a statement in due course.

Sounds threatening, Barry........ do you really expect to make no comment over this? I think a very tactful silence is emanating from Mr Walkden over it all, though I expect he may justifiably be feeling a little vindicated this afternoon.
True friends stab you in the front.

Threatening - no not at all, far from it. There are legal matters and implications that require some care and common sense to be applied to any comments. Unguarded statements against an individual could give rise to action.

when all is said and done, best to wait for the chamber to issue a statement.
Has the Chamber gone potty?

Roger, best to maintain a dignified silence at this juncture.

Its such a disappointment the way things worked out. I was at 'the launch' ..the very night they launched Roger as Business Support Manager to the world, and coupled with a whole new team on the board at the Chamber itself, it all seemed so positive for Dover. They spoke of many positive happenings.
I retired to the pub afterwards and was spouting much positivety myself, having believed that we at last had some fantastic new initiatives happening with people who knew what they were doing.
Sadly it all went titzzup as we know. Hugely bad PR over Rogers departure and now a very bad PR situation all round with regard to this latest story from Kathy Bailes. There had been talk of some of this for a while.
The situation looks bad now for the Chamber. And yes indeed BarryW is right in that we have to be careful how we word things for fear of legalities, but generally the once glorious rebirth of just a few months ago has been badly tarnished.
Just to Add: the feature on the original night mentioned above is on Page 8 of the All Recent Features archive. ( copy 48) also see (copy 49) for Cameron Macsween's full and positive speech from the same night.

You're right Paul.
As Sid said, a dignified silence is best - but there are some very serious questions that I hope are being asked by the Chamber Board.
