We have seen the Park Inn re-open, 3 micro pubs open for the first time with one more on the way, one of our oldest is now having a make over.

The new colour at the Prince Albert is much more to my taste than the dark green.

Peter, if you're looking in, is your official opening today and what time ?
I've looked for the thread where you mentioned it, but can't find it now - can anyone remember, in case Peter is too busy ?

We won't be there, but we did enjoy a very pleasant coffee in very comfortable surroundings at The Mash Tun on Tuesday.

I popped down there and a great official opening it was.
Lots of people came in to wish Peter and Kathryn well, some I knew and chatted to and some I didn't, but it does auger well for them and the Mash Tun as a business.
Charlie and Claire were there, Charlie gave a short speech (non political) and Claire didn't.
Peter and Kathryn provided some good home-made food and El Rustico next door, brought in some Pizzas.
Well done to you both and good luck for the future.

Nothing on the planning list yet for any more micro pubs and I would think we are now up to capacity with them.

I agree Howard, four should be enough for any town centre, six would be pushing it, but not all of these will have the legs to go the distance, time as they say, will tell.

Bench Street? I looked at the photo on an earlier thread and just assumed it was Castle Street. My mistake.

We are very happy with the way things have gone so far. If we end up with six micropubs or more it's the big pubs that will be threatened.

Very true Peter, it is good things are going so well for you.
Interestingly the trend seems to be going back to a small floor area and good beer much the same as years and years ago.
