All those developments are linked into what was known as the Local Plan.I have looked at all those plans over the years they line the corridors in the Council Offices .I have sat at endless meetings over the years gazing at them. Just look around you and see the regeneration which has taken place.
The trouble with the people of Dover they expect it all to happen over night .
I have looked round the Viking Centre at Whitfield and very impressive it is too .The Discovery Centre at Sandwich ,FowlMead .These are here in our District . - Jan Higgins

- 3 December 2015 18:44288550I am quite happy with how things are going in town nowadays although it will be nice to see some foundations laid. Where I have a problem is the apparent tie up between DDC and DHB and the role of Mr Ingleton in all this. DDC should have the interest of the residents of the district at heart and we all know that DHB are only capable of self interest having commissioned a report in the past as to how they could distance themselves from the decaying hinterland.

and now its pretty low....pictures from a few minutes ago thursday morning...
The Burlington thing, one time monster, is shrivelling away before our very eyes.
Compare it to the pictures on the previous pages and you can see how it is disappearing at a sharp rate of knots.
There is a whole raft of mountain greenery now visible from my locale with even some interesting buildings shining through, not least the Lord Nelson. Am expecting to see the Mash Tun before very long then I will be able to order directly with morse code..
The picture below shows the bulldozer grinding away and distributing the debris for later use on the Port redevelopment.
This picture is a crop of the one above. Extra Note for those fascinated by the portaloo...we seem to have lost it.
Perhaps the gales and driving rain toppled it over the edge. Lets hope there was no one in it at the time.
Would be a heck of a shock to take off errrmm mid flight if you see what I mean!
Have just come across the pic below in the archives from a era when Burlington House stood tall
look at those climbers go...and look at the difference in size.

Its all been quiet for a few days as you might expect on the frantically busy Burlington blitz. But here are a couple of pictures from just a day or so before the Christmas break and its all going d-o-w-n. And look...a block of flats I've never seen before emerges from the rubble. They suddenly have one heck of an improved view as they can now see me take the top of my boiled egg in the morning...
Nice rainbow above from the Master of the Mash Tun and a nice one from Wazzer.
The wind is so strong today it might blow the rest of it down.
