Literally a case of the 'bottom dropping out of the market'?

Essential maintenance is something done periodically and notice is given unlike in this case. The fact that the Express have contacted Legal and General suggests that they have heard about some structural problem.

That's planned maintenance, essential is something that needs doing before normal processes can continue.

Thank goodness there's no bus service. At least the chubby little buggers might get some exercise walking there!

The bus service is excellent during the day time Monday/Saturday Bob but the shops are mainly open until 8 pm most days and of course Sundays and Bank holidays. Not forgetting that the cinema does its best business of an evening.

As far as I can ascertain there is not an ATM in St James which seems a bit odd unless the thinking is that cards will take over totally at the tills very shortly.

If the shops do cash back there is no need for an ATM plus the banks are not far away in Market Square.

The Entertainer is now open for business with offers designed to lure customers in before the Christmas but nothing seems to be happening at Greggs.

Not looking good in Ashford:-

Perhaps council(s) should concentrate on providing social housing, allotments, parks and hanging flower baskets where they at least stand a chance of delivery ............................
Oh yes! And press releases telling of the magnificence of the Emperor's clothes!

Greggs is still closed and I couldn't help but notice the parking ticket machines had gone walkabout.

Yes I see they have gone today Howard. Does this mean free parking forever? Always full though, I went to the dentist at lunchtime and there was no space to be had!

I hate to think what the loss of revenue for DDC is already (which, like it or not, has to be found from somewhere to balance the budget) . From what I've seen the only people parking in Stembrook are people from out of town who have put 'parking in Dover' into their TomTom and followed it blindly.

Not forgetting the car wash coves in Stembrook that are losing out but we can rejoice that Burger King will be opening in 3 weeks time in St James.

I've just spoken to one of the managing agents for St James to enquire about rent and was told only 2 units left to lease. The rent is sky high at £30 sq ft plus service charge at £3.50 sq ft so they will only attract big businesses but good news only 2 units left.

Business confidence in Dover is clearly sky high and not many predicted it would be such a success.
Had a look inside that new toy store yesterday along with many others and it is an Aladdin's cave for children, will be an expensive Christmas for many local parents.

My great-grandaughter spent some of her birthday money in there, she knew exactly what she wanted so luckily there were no "I want/need" or "can I have" moments.

Not so much buy as swipe Bob, not to blame though as a bigger boy made me do it.
