The useful life of the Charlton Centre has ended. Time to knock it down and start again.
Perhaps a DTIZ 2?

Heard in the centre that the greengrocers will now not be opening until July.If this is right then i hope its worth the waiting for.

If it is like the others it will be OK at first then go rapidly downhill as the produce gets stale.

It surely must have cost them a few quid in rent by now for that unit. They really need to get opened and start taking some money.

The washing machine shop has now moved into the recently vacated shop at the front.

Something needs to be done about the rubbish around the back. I haven't seen the manager there for a while and her office was in darkness this morning.

Agreed Howard, it looks awful out the back, I can understand builder's bits and pieces with the work going on but there is no excuse for the rest.
A great shame Peter is not still in charge, he really cared about the Centre and Dover as a whole.

You may well be right Andy it seems in terminal decline. About a year ago It seemed on the up and I was chatting to Neil Wiggins whilst his wife and daughters were pillaging the boutique at the front. When that business closed it was the death knell, washing machines just don't draw people in.
The cafe always had the same people in the central position but even they are not there anymore. Patinead heart defies the trend and has craft gatherings on Saturday mornings.

Went through earlier and the sign in the greengrocer's window now says "opening soon", the managers office in darkness again and most of the rubbish is still there.

I quite like the idea of a collectors fair but will it be in the centre itself or the car park?

I heard they was going to hold a Psychic fair but it got cancelled due to unforseen circumstances.
