I'll second that Bern. Sue whatever you do in Dover it's done with a big heart and for the people - doesn't matter what titles you do or don't have. You're a lady in the true sense of the word and you deserve respect and support.
You go girl!
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

It's sad if your saying PW has replaced because of your outspoken view on the new market square screen.
I think he will regret having you on the back benches

surely susan is better suited to a back bench role?
being a member of the cabinet means collective responsibility?
as a normal councillor she can still be a maverick.

Yes Howard I will be a mavirk on the back benches however sadly the way the political arena is run now the power is vested in the few .I have always tried to speak out on what i believe is the right way to go and look where it has got me .
Im not a yes woman and I believe there must be a better way of delivering what is badly needed in this town .I have worked hard for the tenants 12 years on housing 6 as the portfolio holder .There is still so much to be done .

Sue I know Ben Bano was going to praise your efforts in Council tonight, but Politics is and can been a cut throat, stab in the back industry. You only have to disagree with one person or policy to find yourself on your own.I can't be at Council tonight but if I was I would say this, that you are one of the hardest working Cllrs and you speak your mind, and you say what you believe in and stick with it,we may not always agree with each other, but I know we have the greatest respect for each other, the Cabinet will be worse off without you.

Thanks John .Surely there are so many more important things in life with out all this Cut throat stab in the back play ground stuff .I can rise above this and I will continue to put people first .Many years ago my slogan was .
people and progress ,not power or politics .A good motto

John
all i will say is Sue works hard, but so do a handful of others so wouldn't want to single 1 person out.
On the removal of Sue from cabinet it is a sign that Sue has crossed the line anbd PW made it clear (surprizingly)in the full council when he as good as said Sue wouldn't be in a future cabinet.
I do wish Sue well,

Well the AGM is over .I must say I had good suport from a lot of Labour members .Ben Bano said Cabinet will not be the same and I brought challenge to the debate .I will not comment on individiuals but I was touched by some of the wonderful support shewn .I still made a contrubution and the Chairman remarked "Glad you still have a sense of humour Sue ."
I still have a lot of work to do I will not be shoved into a corner .

It's not Julie who has it Howard, it's Sue Chandler.

Sue
If you're feeling lonely I have an old King George VI civil service black leather briefcase that was a gift from my old boss Aidan Healey O.B.E that you can carry around in place of your lost portfolio.
Joking apart enjoy the backbenches and speak freely and at will.

Why should Will get an earfull? Seriously though I'm sure that Sue realises that now she can speak on a greater variety of subjects. Keep at it Sue.

always the easiest way to get information in dover.
make an erroneous statement off the top of the head, then wait for the correction.

Of course the removing of Sue actually gave the Conservative Party a chance to reduce the Portfolio holders from Leader and 10 cabinet position (the largest in the County) by 1 position saving the Council approx £20,000 but the chances was declined by the Leader, and he has chosen a new Cabinet member the lovely Sue Chandler.
Missed chance to save some Councils cash

John get your figures right my cabinet post was approx £6,000 per year and i worked hard for that My expenses were lower as i used the bus most of the time .
My understanding was that the cabinet would be reduced .Still the deed was done or was it deal??
