Can't we just call pest control and be done with it? Drop something in their White Lightning or something? The police are clearly worse than useless at addressing these anti-social behaviour problems. It's the decent Dover residents (particularly the older ones) and the tourists/visitors I feel sorry for, having to witness this crap day in day out.
Hate these drunks, chavs, scumbags and scroungers. They sully the town (and indeed many towns). Can't be doing with the nasty useless selfish b******s.

Street benches and seats should be mainly for the use of the elderly, the tourists and shoppers needing 5 minutes rest.
It annoys me intensely to see teenagers who should know better, sitting up on the top of the back of the seat with feet on the seat part - and probably staying there for a few hours!
I agree wholeheartedly with Andrew's comments.

i don't think that the police have any powers to remove people unless they are actually causing a nuisance.
Define "nuisance"!

Nuisance; Harmful or offensive to the community or a member of it and for which a legal remedy exists. (COD).
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.
Colin, we all recognise there is a dire shortage of Cod, so another remedy will be required.
I suggest HAKE - Have All Killjoys Exterminated
or
SOLE - Shoot Obvious Layabout Entities

I'll go with SOLE.

just spotted that commen from sid on pcso's, i disagree totally, a good pcso is worth their weight in gold.
they actually see things from pavement level rather than racing past in a car.
a good one will talk to people and garner information that the mainstream police cannot get.
Keith/Howard, I'm not having a go at PCSO's per se. I just think if we've got money to spend on recruiting them, we should be spending it on recruiting proper police officers (not station admin staff). If we had sufficient police officers we wouldn't need PCSO's.

I wll leave to get the facts on PCSO's that you are sadly lacking
which shows in your comments
Kith I feared you would misunderstand me. The reference to station admin staff refers back to the great "5,000 new officers" propaganda we got from the last government. In Kent's case, 75% of the council tax increase to pay for the new officers went on office admin staff, not PCSO's or proper police officers.
If that was true of the country as a whole, we could have hired many more constables.

Your comments on PCSO's is clear, not misunderstood as comments
but in facts far from truth.
as i say will let you research further.
I could comment a lot more on the issue but theres a lot more to it, and maybe the police themselves could revisit resources

I dont have any figures in front of me but I think it is widely understood that the last government ( Labour ) increased spending on everything... from nurses right across the board to the police, getting more constables into the force and so on. hence the need for cuts now alas, as the spending went through the roof. Frontline services will go as no amount of significant cuts can ever be made without loss of frontline personnel.
Interesting report the other day highlighted the general misunderstanding of policing. People when asked, always want to see bobby's on the beat, however these bobbies are crime preventers and community re-assurers, NOt crime solvers. The crime solving is done by the background boys/girls and is often a message lost on the genral public.
PCSO's ..are presumably a more cost effective way of getting some areas of police work done, and as I say showing a better return on investment....in some areas of police work.
