Traders would have to pay private companies for wheelie bins like those used by the business that operates the Town Hall, much cheaper to use bags or even litter bins close to the premises.

Purple bags are only issued to residential properties, so my guess is this was left by pepole living above the shops

Bin bags are
issued? Where can I get me some? I was under the impression that
all residential areas were issued wheelie bins to put out. Guess that's impractical if your gaff is in a certain place?
I remember when I used to wash up at a certain local cafe many decades ago. The owner had a deal
with the binmen so he didn't have to buy the expensive council approved for cafes bin bags.

I am one of the very few in my road that is issued with purple bags as I don't have enough hard standing for bins.
I do have sympathy for those that have steps up and down from their house especially if they are not in the first flush of youth.

Most of the houses in my road are up 10 or more steps.
We get two rolls of purple bin bags posted twice a year (I think).
I have a spare roll or 2 for sale

If you can bribe a roll of the special white sacks out of one of the street sweepers you can leave your rubbish by any street bin and it will be collected daily.

The town centre has moved on now to st James. Could say we are lucky we didn't get an outlet at Whitfield that would of taken it all away from the town

Standing at the bus stop in Priory Street the other day the owner of the Kitchen shop was talking to the owner of what was an employment agency and now being converted flats and it transpires that they will be let out once the work is finished.

The new recruitment consultants have opened two doors down from Nifties and there is activity in the former Vision Express shop.

Is the existing CCTV still in working order, the link gives the impression it is.
I am sure we would all like the most up to date gadgets in our own home but sometimes the money is better spent elsewhere.

Just on the subject of the town centre shops, there was a big splash in the local media when local shop keepers, cllrs got together for a small rally
ever since then everything seems to have gone quiet
At the rally I did ask one of the Cllrs what was the next step, there didn't appear to be one.
