That did show you how easy it would be to use Ramsgate I think the D.H.B IS thinking it would lose trade by opening the port once this is all over but there is trade to keep both the ports going. So again will some one tell the PM and our own MP to get Ramsgate open

And see if they can scrounge some of those ferries you've mentioned, less than 180m LOA and 7.5m draught. Although, to be fair, I think I spotted the Joline parked-up in Calais.

Left work two hours early, made it home via Whitfield, Coldred, Lydden, Temple Ewell, River & Bunkers Hill. Even got the last parking space in view of my house
It's all clogged all the way up this end of town.
This is the view of Woolcomber Street on the KCC traffic. What a mess

Clever! Spotted a couple of Romanian vans going "off-duty" earlier, trying the Pineham - Guston - Castle Hill route. Don't suppose it got them anywhere, but nice try.
And in breaking news, I'm told that 2 of the 5 ferries that have been stuck in port all day have now discharged and can reload.

Doesn't appear to be much movement on the P&O front as yet.

One of my friends was having to suffer the truckers right outside her home on Maison Dieu blowing their horns, needless to say she was not at all happy. We all know how frustrated the drivers are but that is pointless and B selfish, apparently it was the French drivers causing the problems this morning at Manston.

Barton Road hasn't moved for about half an hour. Is London Road the same? Wondering if I can get to Alkham Valley.
Well I made it. Not sure about getting back though. And I'm certain if I do there will be nowhere to park! WTF am I supposed to do? Due to get home at about 02:00am and have to do it all again tomorrow. Then Christmas Day night shift.
Just heard they are going to try to keep the port running on Christmas Day now.
A couple of people at work have been told their M&S Christmas order has had to be cancelled due to lorries not being able to get through. Told to try Canterbury (lol, good luck getting back). Glad I went shopping on Monday. Was hoping to stock up again on Boxing Day/27th but that's looking a slim chance now.
What an absolute 'mare.

I stupidly got up at 6.30am today and drove to work in Folkestone, with very little traffic.
I then left work at 6pm this evening and the roads were clear until the bottom of Whitfield Hill as you head into Dover.
I did a quick u-turn, headed through River and down Bunkers Hill and then BANG.. trying to go along Buckland Avenue was a mistake!
Drove out of Dover and back into River, dumped the car, grabbed my things and walked back along the footpath past St Andrews and then along Buckland Avenue and there were cars and lorries, not one of them UK registered.
A few bemused residents I spoke to as I walked along were not impressed and I saw an ambulance on blue lights trying desperately to get across Cherry Tree traffic lights and up Minerva with the paramedics jumping out and shouting at drivers to get out of the way.
I then had to make another trip walking back to River and took a risk to try again in the car. By some miracle, I made it to Coombe valley, and managed to drive the wrong way down the road and through a gap in stationary traffic at Cherry Tree, making it home in the car.
I known the Police have been busy, but it appears that Dover has been sacrificed yet again. My colleagues who live in Deal made it home with ease, but if you live in Dover, it appears you are on your own!
I called 101 and spoke to a friendly Kent Police operator, but she said there was nothing the Police could do. However, she was very pleased to get my call because she said the more calls they got from residents, the higher priority it would become.
Luckily, I live up a hill that once I actually for home is far enough away from the main road, but those poor Barton Road / Buckland Ave / Maison Dieu residents are in for a night of chaos and I dread to think what will happen when these drivers need a toilet.....
Thankfully, my next day at work is Tuesday and I hope that by then this is solved.
Christmas 2020 will be one to remember for all the wrong reasons.

Trouble is, they made that public and now why would you drive your lorry to Manston or join the back of op stack if you know you can drive and get tested at the port?
It won't clear the backlogs, it will increase them!

I'm sorry about that and hope my protestations to Kent Police get it cleared before you need to come home and you get home safely.

Come down the Alkham Valley rd and turn right 1/2 mile after going under A20, you hit 1 T junction, turn left, eventually brings you down Coombe Valley, at least it'll bring you close to home.

Think it’ll be ok to get in River, park near the football ground, perhaps risk Hillside Road (google maps traffic has red lines up there though)
Avoid Crabble Hill towards the town. Brookfield Avenue has become a van park it seems.

Nice one - I'd forgotten that and quite quick and simple! (I think the Hamishes are up there grazing Nemo Down.)
If you want long and complicated (if your destination is, say, Stanhope), then you could try Alkham, left over the top to Lydden, up Lydden Hill over the A2 to Shepherdswell, then Coldred and Singledge to Whitfield, Pineham, Guston and finally dump the car down Old Charlton Road by St Eddie's!!
Don't suppose your neighbour is serenading the truckers..?
