22:1914989I didn't bring childrens education up Howard,David Cameron did,Tony Blair of course kept his children out of the Limelight whenever he could, but it is important to families and politicians who have young children,I am proud of my children and the School they went to Priory Fields and Astor.
If the State School is good then I am sure what ever Party you belong to,or even if you don't then what is important is they get a good and safe education, which is well rounded and beneficial. It has got nothing to do with Politics but life choice, and perhaps finances.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

11:5915018He's back! Dave C that is, he was making what he called his 'monthly' statement. I've never heard it called that before, every blimmin week it felt at one time. He didnt have much to say and was just showing his face coz he's been missing. He did say that he is setting up an economic recovery committee with his mates, which worryingly for Osborne included Ken Clarke, but was asked after he'd rattled on for ages about his new pet talking shop why he was only doing it now. He looked a bit silly and then looked rattled when another journalist asked if he shouldnt be further ahead in the polls at this time if was doing as well as he said. He tried to address the bonus culture in the banks issue but then wobbled and waffled. A poor showing really but at least we know he'll be back in a month's time. Mind you when he's taking, along with the BBC, Sky News and Talk Sport [Talk Sport?], questions from someone from Conservativehome it does make you wonder how long serious hacks will turn up to these briefings when they know he's got the answers ready.

18:1915111Well, well - when the cat is away!!
Really Sid, cant you post something about some serious issues for a change?
To post something this in a week that had David Cameron wiping the floor of Brown at PMQs (yet again), really raises the question about how much attention you pay to the news.
I would suggest that you worry more about your own side and let DC decide his own strategy and media exposure strategy.

21:5115131David Cameron has gone to the bother of setting up an economic recovery committe and BarryW reckons it's nothing to do with issues and a complete waste of time. I suppose we can agree on that one. I for one am glad Barry is back, mainly because I thought that if he had decided in his opinion that the UK was finished and that he was going to take his small shop offshore we might end up with him being replaced by a humourless poster with a nasty rightwing views. So great to have him back.

22:5915140Sid -you have a very strange habit of juxtapositioning two unassociated matters to prove an irelevant point. There is nothing you have said in this thread worthy of the dignity of a reply. In fact I will judge your future comments on that basis, if you are addressing serious issue I will comment, if you are spouting the kind of tosh you have been in this thread I will simply ignore it.

23:2915156I saw that Cameron said this week at a press conference that he is setting up an economic recovery committee. A journalist asked why if it was important he was only doing it now. I say press conference but when you see that those present included Talk Sport and someone from Conservativehome it does make you wonder.
I also think that Cameron's line this week on comprehensive schools and the suggestion that he wants to be seen as a progressive may be the turning point of his political direction between now and the general election. He cannot be a progressive, be understanding of social issues etc and be at the same time a hardline Thatcherite.

13:3715188Now that Cameron is back we may get a view from his mates as to his comments on comprehensive schools and the suggestion that he wants to be seen as a progressive. This may be the turning point of his political direction between now and the general election as he cannot be a progressive and at the same time a hardline Thatcherite.

20:0815235he new blue view(nice poetry) on grammar schools is somewhat surprising, i would imagine that a lot of traditional supporters will be dismayed by it.

21:5815533I read today that David Cameron announced he knows all about the credit crunch, apparently he has to buy his own petrol.
Sounded more like what Bungling Boris would say.
