I see a wide variety of birds, including the yellow hammer in the lanes around Coldred, Shepherswell and Eastry. we are so lucky to have these natural corridors for our wildlife. A big thank you to all who maintain them.

I accidentally found this website whilst reading the 'diamond geezer' blog.

"This is a small village near Dover in Kent. My intention is to show some of the Village, its history and the wildlife I find there."
Also driving to work on the A256 at Tilmanstone you pass under a bridge and quite often there's a bird a prey sat on the railings. Worth looking out for.

I have seen a red kite taking small prey beside the Barville roundabout. There are also a number of buzzards in the Shepherdswell-Nonington area.

It's the roundabout on the Dover-Sandwich road (A256) which goes to the Pike Road Industrial Estate.

There are a lot of hawks over Tilmanstone, Buzzards, Kestrels etc.
The roundabout referred to is next to the Barville boot fair field.

No photo but I saw my first Painted Lady of the year in Whitstable today (and not at all like the one who sings in the High St!)

Some lovely photos of butterflies there, I wish I could get them to pose for my camera. Which Phil do they belong to Howard, Phil Eyden or Phil W-B.?

neither alec - the snapper is dovorian phil smith who is not a member but has given me permission to raid his website and post his glorious photos on here, i regularly e mail him with the viewing figures and ask if it is ok to continue and he is happy with that.
the same applies to ian roberts who supplies the birds of samphire hoe photos along with some other wildlife sightings.
