Dont forget it was the FA that stopped the football due to the number of players already infected or isolating and Sadiq Khan said "There is no risk in using the Tube or buses or other forms of public transport or going to a concert.’
So far I'm thinking the government are pretty spot on, time will tell though!

Re #121. You're normally guaranteed some private space at English level 5 and downwards, though yesterday many attendances were actually up, as fans bereft of other football went local (DAFC's was around 1200). In Scottish League 2 and in most of League 1 attendances are in the low- to mid-100s (I should know, my 'other' club is Stirling Albion), but all football up there was off. I'd imagine the National League will shortly 'suspend' any further games, given that almost half were were called off yesterday in any case, some managers objected to having to play in the first place (including Chesterfield's), and one is already off Tuesday.
As for the Tube, I haven't used it since the 2005 bombings. But for a while before that I was one of thousands of early morning commuters jammed into heaving, sweaty crowds on close and fetid platforms being slowly pushed, prodded and elbowed towards gaping train doors only to be stuffed, skewered and spit-roasted inside, then finally cannoned out a chewed up mess a few stops later. As a reward I had a permanent cold. Eventually I took to walking. Even sucking in the filthy London 'air' is healthier than being down there.

"only to be stuffed, skewered and spit-roasted inside"
I think they banned that after the #me too, movement.

Well, at least there's little room for upskirting. But you wouldn't really know whether you'd been sexually assaulted or whether the guy was just playing with his filofax.

Some good news for us oldies I will not have to pay for my re-instated TV licence until August, good of the old BBC to be so very generous.

Popped in Tesco on the way to work.
About 5 times busier than normal. Loads of empty shelves, no toilet / kitchen rolls, etc

I predict a baby boom and there will probably be an increase in depression and possibly other mental disorders for those stuck indoors for several weeks or whatever length of time is next advised by our experts.
If I am well and have not knowingly been in contact with anyone who has or might have this virus then if I feel like going out I will go out. Maybe I should add only if the shops have reasonably full shelves and it is not raining.
BTW I have never known my road to be so quiet very few pedestrians or cars.

Usual early trip this morning to Morrisons for opening time. Unfortunately, panicky people have now caught up with me, and a crowd was in. The shop's social distancing measures initially amounted to forcing everybody into a huddle at the self-service machines, until eventually someone had the bright idea that it might help to open a till or two.
Later I was enjoying a brisk lung-buster in the sun until a woman about two arms' distance away decided it was time for a good unsmothered cough.
Some half a dozen up the cliff café this morning:

Remember, the value of your coronavirus investment could go up or up.

On a local note: 'Among dozens of other bets, it [i.e. Knightsbridge-based Marshall Wace] has also targeted beleaguered Cineworld, which last week warned it would struggle to pay debts if its cinemas closed.'

Am eagerly awaiting how the current public health advice will get factored into Eastenders scripts.
Having watched hospital-set dramas, I tend to avoid over-burdening the NHS with my presence anyway - you never know when you're going to come across a medico with domestic "issues" ...

The only really important figure is deaths per million, then our figure would be a lot higher up that table, so not that good.
