No surprises in Town without a Pier ward hopefully John will get elected as he cares passionately about the town.

Lord Heron is not far left Brian and Ms Rapley is standing for nothing according to the papers.

To be honest Brian I do appreciate Marx, especially his work in 'Horse Feathers '(1932) 'Duck Soup' (1933) and my particular favourite 'A Night at the Opera' (1935) still comedic genius. His brothers weren't bad either

Voters in Squire Dixon's ward may like to take on board that Cllr Rapley took no part in the debate that resulted in the demolition of the POW pier in her ward.

#65 I cannot emphasize enough my support of the above post.
I know people who begged Georgina Rapley to speak up in her position, to say how many, many people wanted the Prince of Wales Pier to be saved.
She showed no interest whatsoever, and even suggested it was none of her business anyway.
Shocking woman - with the brain of a gnat.
John Heron is brilliant.

I worked with Georgina for a very short time at the Age Concern shop, she soon left when she found she was not allowed to change things around to suit her way of thinking. I think that might show what she is like, I am no fan.

My apologies but it was a while ago and I am an old lady, well that's my excuse.

FWIW Heron is sound.
Let's just say he is one of the few councillors I would invite to join me on a pub quiz team if I intended to win.

Fully agree Commodore regardless of political affiliations John has integrity. A couple of weeks back I put it around that I was unhappy at the way he voted on an issue at DDC. Last Saturday he knocked on my door and explained his reasoning that I understood. Mind you he was on his way to his martial arts club in the community centre two doors away!!

Just been given some sad news. Marion Munt long term District Councillor in Maxton, Elms Vale and Priory passed away in a nursing home today.

I don't remember a party campaigning before in a Town Council By-Election, sounds like they are rattled by the Independent candidate. Rather ironic that they are posing in front of the tram shelter yet not one of them was part of the campaign to save it.

Want someone from the ward, who knows what is going on, not someone from outside who you never see, vote Keith Sansum Community Representative, his finger is on the button, as soon as he is given something to investigate or do he's on to it

Got my polling card through today, voting hours are from 7 am until 10 pm which means a lot of bored people will be sitting around the polling stations waiting for the odd voter to arrive - normally around 20% of the electorate. With our local community being used the pre -school and whoever uses it in the evening will lose out.

Not everyone loses out Howard, polling stations will be a thing off the past soon, as all votes will either be by post, or internet
