It continues. Don't say you weren't warned.
'Peaceful protest' has already become intimidation.

See other posts on Mr Tapp on Elphicke thread .
Neil I'm glad you at least see the light on this one.
Mr Tapp didn't have a problem with it at a meeting I went to last night.
Folkestone Labour has come out against her joining
Dover Labour has welcomed her in!!!!!
Even for Starmer I scratch my head trying to understand this defection .
Ok so some Tories may wish to switch , but this woman was so anti labour, anti starmer, anti unions ,
The list goes on and on
She must have been promised something in return for crossing the floor , but I think Starmer and Tapp will lose more votes than they will gain by letting her in.

The calculation will be that outside of Dover & Deal, nobody will have heard of Nathalie Elphicke. Therefore, they can get away with it, as people won't generally know how ridiculous it looks - and certainly not enough to dent the overall narrative of "even Dover MP gives up on Tories protecting our borders". But for those of us in Dover and Deal, it stinks.

For me Natalie has shown what kind of person she is, definitely not someone I want to know or be my MP regardless of party.
I know little about Tapp except for his tv appearances and so far he comes across as someone who would be quite acceptable as my MP.
Sadly nearly all politicians when they reach the top give the impression they are self-serving and just think of politics as a career.

As I’ve said on many occasions Dover/Deal needs a local candidate who will represent the people of the constituency and not the party machines. An Independent candidate would be good for many many areas and enough of them could make a significant impact on changing the way people feel about politics

I was talkng to someone in town about Mike and they were under the impression that he might have served in the armed forces at some time?

He's very keen - I've received 3 copies of his pamphlet in as many days!

In a meeting on why Mr Rapp continues to live in Tunbridge wells , his argument for this is that no matter where he lived in Dover or Deal he still wouldn't be living in every ward .
I'm still trying to get my head around that one lol

I heard it was because he couldn't think of a decent area to live in in Dover and he couldn't afford Deal prices?

Just looking at Dover/Deal seat , although it's suspected that Elphicke won't stand, in a seat Labour has problems winning, under Blair people were fed up with Tories and Labour h e covered every aspect to make sure he got to number ten.
At the time he appeared to the public to be popular .
Starmer doesn't appear to have the same kind of following, I wonder how much that will affect the result , although we don't yet know who the Tory candidate is to be

Vote for someone who GENUINELY cares about Dover/Deal and not the party machine. There maybe other options if a local candidate comes forward.

The Tunbridge wells candidate is in place.
If reform select him Mr Defriend (the local political parties should play no part in local govt , before doing so himself !)
He will be local

Ok matey
He stood Dover town seat on Dover town council was elected as an independent largely on a campaign to keep political parties out of local govt .
No sooner than elected he became a political party councillor!
Funny Arthur you don't know him , he recently said at a political party meeting he's now joined and likely to be the parliamentary candidate for , he has the following !

Thank you Keith, I’ve just researched Mr Defriend. Had genuinely never heard his name before.

Sadly I forecast he will lose his deposit as would any of the current crop of indies on the town councils, mostly because their support is pretty much restricted to the area they represent & isn't district wide.
Outside of the major political parties any successful candidate needs to have a very broad appeal across the constituency, which requires being very active over a considerable number of years.
