I have to admit Mr Ripley seems not to have heard of the phrase........wooing potential voters......... he seems better at alienating them.
Just had a thought David was also less than tactful on here at times maybe it is a UKIP trait.

Jan
I hate to say this,,,,,, but again,,,,,, i agree with you !!!!!!!!
this is becoming a bit of a habit lol
Certainly if Mr Little is the candidate, its a wrong choice if anything from his postings is owt to go by, but as you say jan it appears that if your in UKIP its ok to treat people in that way .
makes no sense to me if they are wanting to do well in dover
lets no talk about UKIP infighting lol
1; they said they would sort out the allowances if they got elected to KCC
(broken promise,,,, they voted to increase allowances to UKIP members!!!!)
2; A forum member states at regular intervals hes a member of Dover UKIP branch and holds there money
(mr ripley on here states this guy is not a member, even though the guy says he has a membership card that
doesn't run out till feb 2014!!!)
infighting dear dear peter your on a loser there
then of course we have UKIP's lack of policies locally and at a national level
vote ukip wasted vote will do little apart from let other parties in.
but at least Alexander will vote for them, thats nice probably to late though
they could have done with his support at last election
and what changed his mind? theres been no policy changes to what he disagreed so much about with UKIP

if david is their choice of candidate then i think it would be a good one, i would like to see a debate with charlie, clair and david in town.
it is generally agreed that the outright winner will be red or blue the question is how many ukip take off of each of the two main parties.

Dover and Deal is a prime example of a seat where a good UKIP campaign will return a labour victory. I have been telling Charlie for a long time that UKIP will ensure that Europe is the key issue in the next election.

I see the rumour mill and gossip continues apace, whatever you do folks, don't let any facts deliberately grace the forum pages.
As yet, UKIP haven't appointed a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Dover & Deal - when they do, I'm sure that their media representative Mr Little will undoubtedly inform everyone.
For all you lot know, it could be Farage himself...
I would argue that any vote is a wasted vote, as policy is not decided by the electorate and most definitely doesn't exist to benefit anyone, be they of red, blue, yellow, green or purple persuasion.

I have not taken offence either, I was just reporting how varying posts gave me that impression.

If I decide to withhold my vote Keith, I shall do precisely that. What I won't do it show the disrespect of returning a spoiled ballot paper, so I'll decline your offer if it's all the same to you.

I try hard never to give or take offence on this or any other forum. Some would say I am more successful in the latter than in the former. However politicians of all colours are fair game and I will happily, and without apology, ridicule their posturing when I think fit. Targets might include ex-politicians who seek to justify themselves. However I try to stop short of personal abuse except in occasional retaliation.
Politicians never achieve what they promise and always exaggerate their achievements. A year as an elected member however will make most realise that they are totally impotent in the face of infinitely better qualified civil servants and council officers.
Perhaps we should do away with MPs and councillors, electing directly the top civil servants and council department heads instead. Then we might get something done. And save a fortune.

no such thing as a wasted vote chaps, the winner out of charlie and clair will testify to that after the next election.
i disagree with peter's prediction i believe david, sorry i meant the ukip candidate can take a large chunk of the red vote.

Peter
we often can agree/disagree on a wide selection of topics.
now, we get to your latest view point, I would like to give an alternative view.
You state that instead of cllrs lets have civil servants.
you are also under the impression they are better qualified for the job
On both of these counts I disagree.
Dover has stumbled along, not through any politician interference, but officers not up to the task in hand,
to do away with cllrs(some who question officers, and keep officers on the right track) would be a wrong move.
In the past iv been opposed to unitary authorities, but i am warming to the idea.
less councils, less expense, less big wages, less wastage
which would be way forward

No way Keith, how can an ex-postman, or hotdog seller, or care worker (for instance), know more about planning issues than a fully qualified Legal Planning Officer (for example)?

Keith, your post 42.
How would you know who I will vote for? Do you know who I'll vote for?
