after a gap of a year or two, the road has turned back into an outside asylum.
kids running riot, cars tooting their horns endlessly rather than the driver simply getting out and knocking at the door.
last evening we were treated to 12 children, the oldest about 9 approx screaming and shouting for hours on end until i went out and shouted for them to stop as they were in an old persons front garden.
a few tried to tell me their rights until they saw by the look on my face that i was not interested in such peripherals.
Is Belgrave Road along the Folkestone Road?

things rapidly changed this evening, we had a group of 14 year olds drunk out of their heads disperse mercifully quickly, this was followed by a pcso marching purposefully past my house up the hill.
two teenagers emerged shouting ribald comments at him, so i rushed inside got my shoes on and picked up my mobile phone.
all disappeared, when i returned the pcso came back down the road, introduced himself as ryan(the new bloke) we had a good chat and it quickly became clear that he already was aware of the problems in the area and had made it his business to talk to the people causing problems.
i do hope that the new cuts will not affect people like that who make ordinary people feel safer.

Sorry to hear that Howard.
Yes, Ryan is a good guy Howard, he's a replacement for Janet.
We need every incident recorded so we can build up a picture of the area and get proper support from the Police - no recorded incidents, no support.
To my mind, we should have zero-tolerance of this sort of behaviour, nip it in the bud. People must not be allowed to get away with any sort of bad behaviour.

Sorry to hear about Alan Taylor but hope he is mending well. Had a good chat with him over at the 1940's weekend where he was manning a stall...so hope to see him out and about soon.
Yes those PCSO's are very welcome but its a tough job they have, trying to stem asbo type behaviour, very tough indeed. Nobody can manage to cure it, to get the problem off our streets, despite various attempts at government level. Its this type of low level crime people are most concerned about.
It all begins with a lack of parenting which quickly becomes a lack of respect for anyone or anything. Good work by the PCSO, but nothing like hauling someone of to clink for sending a strong message. If nothing else, this incident proves that coppers should get out of their cars, off their butts and start poundiong the beat again.
It's time for the police to stop picking on the soft financial target of motorists and to start focussing on community police work, as it used to be.
For clarity, as I know it is a sensitive issue, I am not against PCSO's; I just strongly prefer the presence of trained police officers with the right powers to deal with whatever comes up and bleive that is where the money beign spent on PCSO's should go. I doubt I will ever get my wish on this and I am not campaigning for an end to PCSO's.
Where are the parents of theese children screaming in the street ?
Tagged, curfewed and unable to help out, sadly...........

it is a cultural thing that we have to get used to.
this is what we were told at the priory forum a few months back by a lady from migrant helpline.
needless to say i walked out soon after this statement was made.
Its terrible the way some parents dont care i have Three children and certainly wont be letting them run around the streets causing trouble .
Howard - you are kidding? Tell me someone didn't say that and expect us to accept it?
Thats because in their country its accepable to behave like that, we had a huge family of them in my doctors all running riot and the translator just laughed it off.

absolutely true bern, plenty of witnesses.
the lady went off at length on how she reminds incomers of their responsibilities and how to behave correctly.
then someone asked the question "why do they congregate in groups upsetting and frightening some people"?
the reply came back, that is their culture.
we have probs up here with the youth of today its a common prob if i had ever behaved like that when i younger i wouldnt be here today, we had respect for people and property.
